Note for the more conservative/homeschooler types: This book has some subtle liberal leanings. First of all, I should have read the byline on the title: "Democracy Rules" We are a representative republic...I know to many, it feels like an insignificant detail, but it is not!! It is the defining virtue of our form of government. This book was published in 2020, and it comes with the underlying trappings of that year, and those since. I will say that some of it does a better-than-average job of simplifying the different parts of government, but it fails to touch on the things that make America truly special.

The writing makes it easy for a child to understand yet doesn’t downplay the info either. I like the corresponding graphics too that help show what each section is for.
