No more dead battery on weekend driver
Works well, charges a dead battery in about a day. Keeps battery charged on a seldom used vehicle. Turns off when fully charged, turns back on to maintain battery. Magnet keeps unit from sliding around on paint. Has fitting so attaching and removing is a snap.

Alaskan winters are very hard on all equipment batteries. I use this to charge up batteries in my snow-plowing truck, my 40' MCI bus, my Bobcat and a variety of car batteries. With a 2 amp charge, (and a feature that's built-in to ramp down when charged) it is doesn't overcharge the battery even when plugged in for days or weeks at a time. It's works perfectly and I've been using one for nearly a year now. Just ordered another one for my daughter's car in winter-time. Great product, well built and a great price.---UPDATE---I've been so pleased with the two chargers I own, that I've ordered a third one. They work in the coldest weather, in rain or snow, and the best part is they will not overcharge (and thus ruin) your batteries like so many other chargers will.

12/23/19 UPDATE: I liked these so much I was going to buy another one today, however I see the price is now $38 which is more than DOUBLE the price I paid for the exact same item only 18 months ago. Cmon Amazon, that is just plain wrong.

I just purchased another one of these (2A model) to supplement the two I purchased two years ago. I use them to maintain charge on my lawn tractor (stored outside with no cover) and my seldom used classic cars (parked inside). The one exposed to the weather is a little sun faded after two years, but it still works great. They reliably keep my batteries topped up without worry. They'll also charge a car battery from dead, but it will take several hours to get enough charge to start the vehicle. It will charge motorcycle batteries and powersport equipment batteries in about 4-5 hours. I like the fact that the charger comes with clamps, ring terminals and a cigar lighter plug - so you have multiple options on how you connect it. I installed the ring terminal adapter on the tractor and the cars. Simple LED indicators tell you when it has power, when it is charging and when it is in maintenance mode.

A very nice unit for the price. The charger is sealed, waterproof, and pretty much protected against rough handing. It can be stuck to the sheet metal of the car when in use via a magnetic base, or hung from whatever is handy. Quality of the cables and accessory parts appears very good. Can charge via crocodile clips, via a cigarette lighter socket (if the socket is in the circuit when the key is off), or using eyelet ring connectors attached to the battery post clamps. I used the last approach and added a short SAE extension cord so that the double-barrel connector dangles through the grill, always handy without popping the hood (wife’s car).

Worked great. An ancient 6-amp charger was unable to fully charge the battery overnight. This charger indicated a full charge (green LED lit) in about six hours. So far, I’m pretty happy!

Added: About 9 months after purchase, the charger was dropped on the garage floor from about 3 feet. It died! That seems strange for such a rugged-appearing unit made of high-impact plastic with flexible bumpers all around. I replaced it with the same unit but must fine it a star for over-delicacy!

Review after two months of daily use:

Works great! This thing is tiny and I mounted it under the hood of my samurai. I actually switched out the leads to rings so that it can permanently stay hooked up to the battery, then set it up to where at the end of the day when I park, I just run an extension cord to the truck for an overnight trickle charge. I have a phantom draw somewhere, but after a few weeks of trying to locate it, I found this fix works better. The charger has held up wonderfully with daily use for the past two months and has withstood the heat/weathering of being mounted under the hood. I am hoping it last for at least six months, but honestly I think it will last much longer than that!
Overall I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone in need of a good durable trickle charger!

My second car does not get used much and the background drain of the computers was causing the battery to died after several weeks. Yes I bought a new battery after the dealer said it would not hold a charge, but that did not help. Having this little charger has been great. Just hook it up every few weeks and no problems. If the battery is pretty dead, it can take all night to trickle charge. If the battery is fully dead, it will not hold a charge and this won't help.

Pros: simple. works well. Magnetic attachment. Has 3 attachments: clamps. rings and cigarette lighter adapter. Surprisingly, I had to charge my Porsche via the cigarette lighter to get enough battery power to open the hood. Crappy Porsche design, great charger design - you never know.

I purchased one of these a couple of years ago to keep my motorhome chassis battery charged, as it sits for months at a time during the winter months. It’s a worry-free charger, and may be left connected to the battery without danger of overcharging. It’s supposedly waterproof, although I have it plugged into the lighter socket inside the motorhome, so that’s not a concern for me. It has performed flawlessly over the last couple of years, and because I’m so pleased with it, I just purchased a second one to leave connected to my boat batteries over this winter. I may ever get another to use with a second car that only gets driven every few months. I would recommend this unit to anybody that’s looking for a no-maintenance trickle charger.

I work from home quite frequently, even more so in these COVID pandemic times. So I had trouble starting the car in the morning a few times, so annoying that was considering replacing the car battery before the end of its lifespan. So glad I decided to give this a try before buying another battery! I leave it charging overnight once every 2 months (or less), and the problems are completely gone.

Good quality trickle charger, used to charge my boat battery that was left uncharged during the off season.

Left it on to charge the battery for 24hours, battery was good to go and boat started up no issues. Should have purchased it earlier to keep the battery charged during off season, live and learn.

No need to disconnect the battery while charging in most cases. Low voltage so you don't have to worry about it as much and has built in safety features. Just expect to leave it on for 24hrs if trying to charge a dead/almost dead battery; that's to be expected with a trickle charger. Has a built in magnet as well for easy mounting on vehicle if needed which was a neat surprise. There's a couple of models so just make sure you get the amps needed for your job. I purchased the 0-2AMP, 12 Volt battery Black+Decker model.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work where it needed
Reviewed in Canada on January 10, 2018
It work at home, but when I'm trying to use it with sockets at parking sports - it doesn't - it make that automatic fuse to go off and all electricity from the socket stops.
It is not problem with sockets themselves - I've borrowed my friend's 15 amps super cheap charger bought from Canadian Tire and was able to charge my battery without any issues - using the same power sockets, this 2amp unit makes sockets go offline. I bet it's something maybe with current properties or spike in current requirements, either way, you won't be able to use it where it's needed the most - outside in cold.
