#2 Get a WhatsApp business number

You’ll need a WhatsApp Business Platform account with a number assigned. We recommend using a separate number - not your current personal one. Then you’ll need to follow a number of steps to complete the setup on WhatsApp and configure account data in 3CX. Note it's only for answering inbound messages - not outbound messages. #3 Bring or buy your number to connect to your 3CX

Not everybody wants to use WhatsApp - so let customers call you too. Get a phone number for regular calls from a supported voip provider and connect it to 3CX. You’ll need to have a WhatsApp business platform account setup with a dedicated number. It's not possible to re-use your personal number. You’ll also need to follow the WhatsApp configuration guide carefully.

No, at present this is not possible. Outbound messaging is strictly controlled by Meta, the WhatsApp parent company. Each outbound message has to be approved to avoid spam. So with 3CX you can handle inbound WhatsApp messages only at this point.

WhatsApp messages are sent to a group chat which includes all the team members you add to this group. This way your whole team can answer messages. You can choose for the conversation to stay open to the whole team or for it to be transferred to a single user after “taking the chat.” More info.

If you already have an existing phone number you want to reuse, you can port it to your new VoIP provider. It's a process the VoIP provider will handle for you, although it can take several weeks.
