A pregnant 17-year-old was found dead days after her family says she disappeared and now they're demanding answers and are questioning the response of the City of Barnwell Police Department (CBPD).

Maylashia Hogg's body was found on Sunday, February 18 near Perry Street and Main Street less than a mile from her home.

WACH FOX News' Kei'Yona Jordon reached out to the CBPD on Monday, February 19 to request a missing persons report.

An official with CBPD said WACH FOX News would not be able to obtain a report due to the observance of President's Day.

Hogg was nine months pregnant and was expecting a baby girl, Londyn Charity, on Valentine's Day.

Family members say Hogg was reported missing on Thursday, February 8 and was scheduled to be induced on Tuesday, February 13.

A missing persons flyer was shared on the City of Barnwell Police Department Facebook page from the Barnwell Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, February 14.

According to Kimberly Kite, a former law enforcement officer and founder of The Broken Link Foundation, said Hogg's family reached out to her after they received no help from law enforcement to alert the public of her disappearance.

On Tuesday, February 13, a post to CBPD's Facebook page requested the public's help locating Michael Gene Still.

Still was last seen on Tuesday, February 6 at Colony West Apartments.

In an updated post on February 20, officials responded to questions about speculation that Hogg's and Still's case are related.

The Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating the disappearance of Michael Still who was last seen on February 6, 2024 at his apartment in Colony West. BCSO has used multiple resources from other agencies in our search for Still. Though there is no concrete evidence that Still’s disappearance is related to Malayshia Hogg, we continue to work closely with Barnwell Police Dept. to share information and follow all leads.

WACH FOX News' Kei'Yona Jordon is following the case and will have the latest developments.
