May 22, 2017 at 17:01 comment added JDługosz I think you’re confused, and you are illustrating that the answer is yes. Synchronous rotation, specifically a 1:1 spin/orbit resonance, will not keep the same point on the face squarly toward its primary, but will rock back and forth.
