$\begingroup$ That's roughly what my own gut was telling me. In general I'm a big fan of Rule of Cool myself but there does need to be a veneer of plausibility. I think I'll save the notion of a moveable winter for another story, and rework the zone in this story into a Tropic of Shadow or something along those lines. Thank you for your response! $\endgroup$
