If he had already decided he will not join the company, then he should have considered to continue with the interview atleast. He had nothing to loose at that moment. I personally believe interviews are free crash courses to test your knowledge , communication skills and patience. I would have never run away... But I will neither agree that quitting a interview in the mid-way is rude. Some company cultures deliberately humiliate the candidate to show how superior they are.
