However noise is genuinely disruptive, but nobody can say that the guy at the next desk wearing jeans really stops them working.

I dislike a noisy work environment, even if the company is O.K. with me sitting quietly while everyone else is loud. I imagine that people who dislike jeans and sandals would feel likewise.

The team is usually limited by the quality of its slowest member, and restrained by the prejudices of its most vocal and whiny members.
Aug 28, 2012 at 23:47 comment added enderland If you have a hugely negative reaction due to a company culture that quickly, it is a waste of your time to stay there all day just to tough it out when the job market is such an open market for people who can code right now. If you code (well) you have the ability to pick your job in some sense. Why waste your time with a job you don't think at all you will like.
