    Hi @lylejames

Thank you for your feedback. I’m afraid at the moment CartBounty does not provide an option to exclude shopping carts from a specific IP address. But in our docs on spam protection, we have guide on blocking bots here: https://www.cartbounty.com/abandoned-carts/#prevent-bots-from-leaving-abandoned-carts

It also includes a plugin that is designed to fight against such bot visits called Blackhole for bad bots.

In addition our Pro version comes with some built-in bot detection feature that helps to identify know bots and prevents them from leaving abandoned carts.

    Kind regards,
    Nauris

Hi @lylejames, I will respond here instead of under Reviews since this is where support should be provided according to WordPress guidelines.

Can you please let me know what cart reports plugin are you referring to that currently displays IP addresses?

Hi @lylejames, just following up on this topic. We have just included your request in our Pro version’s latest release. It is possible to use a filter cartbounty_pro_set_excluded_ip_addresses to exclude abandoned cart from being saved coming from specific IP addresses.

how to know the IP address if the plugin does not show it

47 abandoned carts in 10 minutes please display their IP addresses

Thank you for your question @lylejames.
CartBounty at the moment does not store or save customer IP address as it is not needed for sending out abandoned cart reminder messages and therefore storing additional personal data like IP address is not necessary at this stage.

At the moment we see this feature necessary for users who are more advanced and know what they are doing since excluding abandoned carts by IP address is not really something we would advise to do as it may lead to missing out on lots of abandoned carts.

For example, if you would like to exclude your own IP address from abandoned carts or you may look into server logs to see a specific IP that is visiting your store and creating multiple abandoned carts.

Just please be cautious using this filter as a single IP address can be used by multiple users and if you prevent a spam bot from creating abandoned carts, you may as well prevent real users from saving abandoned carts who may arrive at your store using the same IP address.
