Women in Localization Germany is recruiting one volunteer who will take on the role of Chapter Manager.

You will lead the Women in Localization Germany Chapter and report to the GEO Manager.

You will be responsible for setting up the team, ensuring that all roles are covered and recruiting new volunteers. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving Chapter engagement, fostering its growth and progressing the W.L. goals at the Chapter level.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the Chapter to deliver on the W.L. mission, vision and goals
- Ensure all organizational processes and procedures are being adhered to by all Chapter volunteers at all times

- Owner of the W.L. Chapter email
- Supports the Chapter leadership team to deliver 3-4 events per year, more if there is more than one location in one country/area
- Supports growth and active engagement of Chapter membership

- Represents W.L. at Strategic Partner events
- Mentors all other Chapter leadership volunteers

Working closely with the Program Manager - Content and Social Media and the extended social media team, this role is responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving written social media content for Women in Localization. It’s an exciting role for someone looking to gain experience working with creative agencies, marketing, content creation and social media.

- Reviewing social media content in Trello and correcting and refining the content to ensure it is grammatically correct and meets W.L. brand, style and content expectations prior to publication.
- Reviewing social media image content for accuracy in Canva and providing feedback in Trello.
- Works closely with the Program Manager Content & Social Media, Social Media Traffic Managers and Women in Localization’s agency to offer suggestions to improve posts and written content.
- Ensures social media content conveys the mission of the organization in an accurate, professional way.
- Contribute to writing and editing W.L. blogs and press releases on an as needed basis.

Requirements:
- An active member of Women in Localization or proven interest in becoming one.
- Native English proficiency.
- Creatively gifted with an interest in marketing and social media management for a non-profit organization.
- Skilled writer, with experience creating content for social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X) and longer form content.
- Experience with Trello, Canva and project management are a plus.
- Collaborative and strong attention to detail required.
- Is comfortable with Mailchimp, Canva, Eventbrite and any other W.L. approved tools/channels used for the management of creative assets.

Commitment Expected:
- We recommend that volunteers commit to a 2 year term.
- 4-6 hours/week reviewing content and providing feedback.
- Availability for monthly Marketing All-Hands meetings (1 hour/month).

Content and Events:

WLGC-Education and Content is committed to the W.L. vision of making content accessible to all members and volunteers. The main objective of this team is creating and managing educational content and career coaching materials. Focus on creating events and materials for translation students and early careers members, organizing four events per year on diverse topics for our global community and work toward increasing membership from the student community.

Women in Localization has an opening for a volunteer Content Resourcing Manager to support our members in learning and development processes. In this role, you will be working closely with the Content Manager on sourcing content to assist newcomers to the industry, finding contributors to write short articles on a set of topics - helping members just starting to find their place in their localization career. You don’t need to know everything about all aspects of the localization industry, but it will help if you know the right people to go to with the type of questions the newcomers ask!

We will be creating short pieces of content on a variety of topics. We aim to make the content easy to understand and easy to find, with one topic per article. But as the Content Resourcing Manager you’ll be able to contribute your ideas to help influence the program to help our members.

- The Content Resourcing Manager will recruit experts in our community to supply content and at times may create material themselves
- You may be asked to help with events planning and
- Partner with cross-functional teams within Women in Localization, both locally and in our global community.

The Mentorship Lead will work along with the Mentorship Manager to foster mentoring opportunities to further the professional development of the localization community at different stages of their career.

This role is an executive role and will require the lead to work on multiple aspects of the initiative.

We are looking for a volunteer who is already a WL member or has been a volunteer in the past. This team is working on the mentorship initiative and it would be an added advantage to onboard someone who understands the vision and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Implement the Mentorship Initiative
- Management and Maintenance of the Mentorship Platform with the Vendor Partner and Technology Team in WL
- Manage the helpdesk connected with the Mentorship Platform – Answer queries, connect with participants
- Conduct email campaigns, surveys, promotions to attract mentors and mentees
- Work with Technology to resolve tech issue
- Collaborate with other WL PDs to ensure that success of the initiative
- Represent the mentorship team at the Global Community Program meetings/Industry events

Role Overview
The Global Membership Manager works with the Global Community PD.

Responsibilities:

- Work with the Metrics team and work out metrics needed for organization
- Monitor MailChimp, analyze membership data, gather insights on membership increases or decreases in membership numbers globally.
- Work with the membership team to come with initiatives to increase membership numbers and sign up via our website form.
- Review and update the https://womeninlocalization.com/membership/ webpage as or when needed.
- Update membership Benefits to ensure align with the organization
- Create and publish annual membership surveys if needed
- Represent the membership team at the Global Community Program meetings
