Megan Hernandez is the Vice President of Fundraising at the Wikimedia Foundation. In her role, Megan leads the fundraising team that engages millions of readers around the world  to support the Foundation’s mission.   

Since 2009, Megan has built up the Wikimedia Foundation’s global fundraising program into a world-class operation with Wikipedia readers from more than 200 countries donating to propel the work of the Wikimedia movement. This unique fundraising model not only supports Wikimedia’s financial sustainability, but also educates readers about its vision of bringing the sum of knowledge to all people. Teams led by Megan have pioneered innovative fundraising techniques that serve as a model for organizations around the world. Prior to the Foundation, Megan held roles with the American Cancer Society and Mundo de Niños in Peru. She holds a BA magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, where she studied Human Development and Spanish Literature.
