Favorite Quotes from Peter Frampton

“The reason I wanted to play guitar was that I saw Buddy Holly and then our own homegrown Shadows on TV in 1957 or ’58. I wanted to learn to play guitar so I could do what they did and be in a band.” – Peter Frampton

“Really wasn’t into sports at an early age. I couldn’t wait to get home from school, go straight to my bedroom, pick up the guitar, and play it. It became an obsession for me. That’s all I wanted to do was play guitar and learn every lick I heard on the radio.” – Peter Frampton

“To be on a track with Les is a great thing to be able to say. They ran about five tracks past me, and I picked ‘So Into You’ (originally performed by Atlanta Rhythm Section). Everyone loves that track.” – Peter Frampton

“They all mention Les as an inspiration because of (his) early records, which were jaw-dropping when you first heard them as a novice guitarist. We revere him, but Les is so genuine and down-to-earth that he’s still one of the lads.” – Peter Frampton

“Recorded music is basically free now. I used to tour to promote a CD, but now I make a CD to promote a tour. I’ve moved on and live with the new reality, but I do get frustrated when people do dumb things.” – Peter Frampton

Career

Although often overshadowed by her late sister Selena, Suzette Quintanilla has led an exciting life in the music industry.

Inspired by her father Abraham’s love of music, Suzette became a drummer in the family band with her siblings.

At first, the family played on street corners and quinceañeras until her father opened Papágayos, a Mexican restaurant in Lake Jackson, Texas.

While her parents managed the restaurant, Suzette and her siblings played for and entertained diners.

Unfortunately, the 1981 recession forced the restaurant to shut down after it began to lose patrons, and the family moved to Corpus Christi.

However, in Corpus Christi, Selena began to gain attention as a singer, which allowed the family’s band to grow in popularity.

With Selena’s talent set to make her one of the richest singers in the world, things began looking up for Suzette and her band.

Mainstream Success

In 1981, Selena y Los Dinos were signed to Freddie Records, and they began playing in local clubs to gain exposure.

However, after completing their first album, Selena y Los Dinos, Abraham Quintanilla walked away from Freddie Records and moved to Cara Records.

The group was later discovered by GP Productions while performing in 1987, and their second album, Alpha, was released.

The same year, they released “Muñequito de Trapo,” which earned Selena a Best Female Vocalist of the Year award at the Tejano Music Awards.

In 1990, she began working with Q-Productions, a company founded by her father specializing in Latin music.

Although not one of the richest people in the world, Suzette was enjoying a successful career in the music industry.

Life After Selena

After Selena was shot and killed, Suzette Quintanilla was hit especially hard by her passing and quit performing music.

While numerous celebrities, including Julio Iglesias and Gloria Estefan, mourned the singer’s loss, Suzette retreated from the public eye.

However, she did return to music in 2005 for a tribute concert to Selena called Selena ¡VIVE!, which was held in Houston, Texas.

At the concert, Jennifer Lopez, who played the late singer in a 1997 movie about her life, gave an introduction.

Suzette also returned with Los Dinos in 2010 to record a song for A.B. Qunitanilla’s group Kumbia All Starz.

That said, aside from these two instances, Suzette has remained behind the scenes at Q-Productions, where she remains today.

Suzette learned the ins and outs of running the company from her father and has since become its CEO.

She is responsible for many tribute projects to Selena and launched MAC makeup collections in her name in 2016 and 2022.

Favorite Quotes from Suzette Quintanilla

“The difference is that the series is about the actual journey of us being a family, struggling to understand and figure out this musical part of us that we didn’t really realize that we had.” – Suzette Quintanilla

“To me, at the end of the day, it’s about the story, and not one person on this Earth is going to look exactly like my sister and act like my sister. It’s not just about physically what you look like. It’s about what you can deliver in regards to what the story is all about.” – Suzette Quintanilla

“This series is more about all the questions, the little things that Selena’s fans have been asking throughout the years like, ‘Why was this song created or why this?” – Suzette Quintanilla

It’s more about filling in the full story of our journey and hopefully inspiring those who are going on a journey of their own. And whatever their dream is, to understand this was not a rise to fame right away. It was not like that. It took quite a bit of year and a lot of hardship as a family and being able to get where we were before she was ultimately taken from us.” – Suzette Quintanilla

“Love this pic I came across of my sister and I in Mexico. Guys, MY VEST! WT??? I’m confused as to WHYYYYY did I think this would be cool to wear. This is definitely up there with the pics of my hair looking super teased to look likes a big BALL! But know what? “ – Suzette Quintanilla

“Just the other day, I pulled out this old cassette of Ragged Glory, and I popped it into my cassette player, and I was digging it. They were just a great rock and roll band, one that presents the song ahead of everything else – there’s no grand idea or concept behind it.” – Krist Novoselic

“This band is a real collaboration, and I’m grateful to anybody who can appreciate our music. It doesn’t have to be a certain kind of fan or person or anything. I think there’s a little bit of something for everybody on this record.” – Krist Novoselic

“The whole American political system needs shaking up. It’s like, prog rock was good, but in the ’70s, certain bands became institutions. They needed the Sex Pistols to come along. That’s what American politics needs right now.” – Krist Novoselic
