Joining The Bulls And Breaking Records

He was named a replacement in the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, replacing John Wall, and exceeded Bill Laimbeer’s record for offensive rebounds in 2019.

While achieving a 32-point, 23-rebound game in the 2019 opener, Drummond was traded to the Cavaliers in February 2020, joining Kevin Love.

The following year, he reached a buyout agreement with the Cavaliers, which led to free-agent interest from LeBron James. He signed with the Lakers in 2021.

That year, he signed with the 79ers, playing alongside Joel Embiid, but was traded to the Nets in 2022 in a deal involving James Harden.

After joining the Bulls in 2022, he achieved unprecedented success. In November 2023, he tied Tim Duncan’s record with his 10,000th career rebound.

Favorite Quotes from Andre Drummond

“That’s the way he plays. There are no hard feelings. It’s like playing with your best friend. You can talk if you want. It doesn’t mean you mean it.” – Andre Drummond

“Well, you know for me, I don’t really get into that stuff. That’s more front office deals and what they take care of. My job is to just focus on basketball, and you know, I don’t really get a chance to really pick and choose who I play with. So I’m just excited to play with the guys who I have now, and I’m very content with the players that I have too.” – Andre Drummond

“Definitely Nate Nixen. He’s one of them that I really enjoy listening to. He has a lot of great stuff. I’d go with Rico Will, Peezy, my uncle Trick Trick. Snap Dogg is one of my favorite rappers out here, too.” – Andre Drummond

“Yeah. Slowly but surely, I’ve been putting stuff on my SoundCloud page. I don’t want to put too much stuff out yet. Obviously, I still play basketball. So I don’t want people to get it twisted and think that I’m more focused on music than I am on basketball.” – Andre Drummond

“It’s every kid’s dream to play with the best player in the world. … This is an incredible time in my career to play with LeBron James instead of against him … Hopefully, things go the right way, and we’ll try to run it back again.” – Andre Drummond

“Yeah, just how tough he was. He played strong and hard every night, and I would not want to play against him during his prime. He was elbowing people in their chest. He’s not about to violate me, bro. I’m gonna fight. We gotta fight, bro. He was disrespectful, and he dumped on people.” – Andre Drummond

NBA Salary

In 2016, Jaylen Brown signed a four-year rookie contract worth $21.4 million with the Boston Celtics. The deal was initially guaranteed at $9.7 million at signing and was fully guaranteed overall. Brown earned $4.7 million in his first NBA season.

Throughout the contract, his salary gradually increased, and he earned $4.9 million in 2017, $5.2 million in 2018, and $6.1 million in 2019.

In 2020, Brown signed a four-year rookie extension worth $106.3 million with the Celtics. This increased Brown’s average annual salary from $5.4 million to $26.6 million. The contract was active until 2024, with Brown earning $108.5 million in total, including incentives.

This year, he signed his most recent contract with Boston, a five-year veteran extension valued at $286.2 million.

Jaylen Brown’s active contract is the most expensive contract signed in 2024 and a ridiculous $41 million higher than Tyrese Haliburton‘s $245 million deal with the Pacers.

Jaylen is fully guaranteed the entire value of the contract and is expected to earn $49.4 million for the 2024/25 season. His contract is the highest-value deal signed this year and the most expensive NBA contract ever recorded.

Thus far in his NBA career, Jaylen Brown has earned $129.5 million.

However, his new deal guarantees him an additional $286.2 million, meaning his career earnings could reach $415 million by the end of 2028.

Endorsements

In 2016, upon being drafted by the Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown signed a 5-year shoe deal with Adidas. The deal’s details were never publicly disclosed, and the contract expired in 2021. Since then, he hasn’t yet signed a new shoe endorsement.

In a 2023 interview on Point Forward, Brown appeared as a guest alongside Donovan Mitchell. The pair discussed what they’re looking for in shoe deals. Jaylen mentioned he wants more “creative control” over creating a signature shoe.

With the rise of Chinese shoe brands such as 361 Degrees, Anta, and Li-Ning, the Celtics star might be looking for something similar.

Favorite Quotes from Jaylen Brown

“I disagree that an athlete can’t be intelligent. Some people think that, in basketball, we have a bunch of masculine adults who don’t know how to control themselves. They’re feeble-minded and can’t engage or articulate ideas. That’s a narrative they keep trying to paint.” – Jaylen Brown

“There’s this idea of America that some people have to win and some have to lose, so certain things are in place to make this happen. Some people have to be the next legislators and political elites, and some have to fill the prisons and work in McDonald’s. That’s how America works. It’s a machine which needs people up top and people down low.” – Jaylen Brown

“At Berkeley, you wore a hoodie and pajamas and Birkenstocks, and that’s swag. I was so thrown off. What I thought was cool was cool no more, so I thought about what I actually liked. I started experimenting.” – Jaylen Brown

“You’ve got athletes who are politicians, venture capitalists, musicians, rappers, etcetera. It’s becoming more of a popular thing to have other interests outside of basketball, and I think that’s normal. Just like when people work day jobs, they have an interest in sports, they do investments, they do all these other types of things.” – Jaylen Brown
