The producers behind “ABCs of Death” are getting ready to add more letters, announcing a sequel to last year’s anthology horror pic to shop at Cannes.

Magnet Films, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, will produce in association with Timpson Films and Drafthouse Films.

“ABCs of Death” tapped separate horror directors for 26 short films about death. The second film will expand beyond horror helmers, however, and has signed on directors including “The Last Circus'” Alex de la Iglesia, “Room 237’s” Rodney Ascher and animator Bill Plympton.

Like they did with the original, producers will hold a director’s competition this summer to include one additional filmmaker. Release of “ABCs of Death 2” is planned for next year.

Magnet distributed last year’s horror pic “V/H/S” and will release a sequel to it later this year. Other credits include “Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie” and hockey comedy “Goon.”

“This time around we’re all determined to expand the concept to even more hyperkinetic, comically deranged and mortally dizzying heights of how someone can shuffle off this mortal coil,” said Ant Timpson, who will produce along with Tim League in conjunction with Todd Brown, Marc Walkow, Mitch Davis and Ted Geoghegan.
