To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, Blenheim Palace hosted a Beacon lighting ceremony, attended by local residents and civic dignitaries. Beacons across the UK and the world were lit in celebration of the ‘light of peace’ that emerged out of the darkness of war.

As a part of our preparation for the upcoming CULTURATI project here at Blenheim, we have invited staff from all over the business to tell us their favourite stories or facts about the Palace and the surrounding Estate. Recently, our Head of Innovation, David Green, had an extraordinary experience attending the CULTURATI project's second international event at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in Istanbul. This event brought together 14 esteemed partner organisations from various countries, including Germany, Finland, Spain, Italy, and the UK. This #WorldBeeDay we are buzzing to give you a glimpse of the ROWSE HONEY LIMITED Bee Hive in the Walled Garden, this space will be to educate families about the importance of Bees and other pollinators. It's part of an ongoing project with Rowse Honey where we are planting Wildflowers on our Estate and Palace Gardens to help attract pollinators and wildlife to these areas. The Hive has been designed to be interactive, allowing families to learn more about bees, hedgerows, and how they can plant pollinators in their gardens. A workbench and toadstools are made from Blenheim Oaks for children to sit, create their little bees and colouring sheets. They can also climb the steps to look out to see if they can see the pollinators in the Palace’s potage garden.
