Senior Procurement Officer

Location: Bristol, Bolton or Stevenage

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

• Bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance, varying each year)
• Pension: Maximum total (employer and employee) contribution of up to 14%

Key activities on a day-to-day basis can vary between individual roles, but expected tasks include:

• Preparing and executing subcontracts, either with existing partners or by running tendering activities
• Overseeing subcontract amendments to ensure they comply with the latest contracting standards and legislation
• Undertaking performance management activities to ensure suppliers deliver in line with subcontract obligations
• Developing and nurturing strong relationships with suppliers within the UK, Europe, and globally
• Identifying and mitigating commercial and business risks related to the suppliers you manage
• Obtaining quotations and other critical intelligence from suppliers to bid for new business

Experience Required:

MEP offers a collaborative, team-focused environment where multitasking is essential. This critical role requires individuals who can drive our success by translating requirements into practical solutions. You'll have ample opportunities to develop within the MEP team and the broader procurement business. Travel to our suppliers in the UK, Europe, and potentially internationally will be required.

Ideal candidates will:

• Be eager to learn or bring experience in procurement subcontract management, such as negotiation, contract management, and understanding terms and conditions
• Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find resolutions daily
• Be committed to providing continuous support and cooperation to senior internal and external customers
• Continuously seek opportunities for improvement, analyse situations, and present possibilities while balancing risk
