About

As an award winning, innovative and results driven Director, I have gained extensive experience creating and implementing winning strategy, this includes taking ownership of the product roadmap and continually focusing on optimising the user experience to increase conversion across digital platforms.

I have been recognised for motivational and influential leadership of teams due to quality of planning created. This is in addition to continually exceeding stakeholder expectations by translating any potential problems into workable solutions.

With customer focus, I have planned and executed digital strategies, analysed and measured the results using a sound approach to drive efficiency and improvement in the overall customer journey. In recent projects, I have created a three phase process for teams to follow, from incubation of products to acceleration and maintenance, which has contributed to positive results.

I am equally strong commercially and have fully utilised numeracy skills to control profit & loss, budgets and costs for digital projects, including innovation, marketing, cross-media development, branding and online optimisation initiatives.

Through LinkedIn, I welcome the opportunity to increase network of contacts and share insights into the digital space with like-minded professionals and continue development through any further career opportunities.

On arrival, the team were underperforming therefore I implemented changes to working methods and altered the team profile. This successfully turned around performance and resulted in the team developing market leading propositions, a vibrant pipeline of product innovations and revenue growth. To improve product innovation, I established a 3 phase workflow for the team to initially incubate, accelerate development and maintain products to meet agreed plans and timetables. As project manager, I delivered the company’s largest project which was designed to consolidate multiple brands onto a single platform whilst simplifying website maintenance. This was gained through solution development to resolve any problems and direct oversight of the team to validate, test and roll-out solutions.

Following departure of the senior management team, I simultaneously spearhead the NME brand with full accountability for profit and loss. I manage and motivate a sales team to achieve targets and monitor staffing levels to identify any recruitment needs, which has resulted in a high performing team and increased yearly profits. Through editorial and commercial strategy development, further growth has been realised in scale and reach for existing digital platforms and off site social media. This has delivered year-on-year audience growth of 150%, combined with the introduction of new revenue streams and embedding of best practice for affiliate revenue and shoppable content. Due to independent management of the brand, I was recognised by ‘The Drum’ and included in the top 100 people in the UK digital industry.

In a director-level capacity, I initially took ownership of the product roadmap, created initiatives to optimise the user experience and defined the product strategy. This was in collaboration with commercial, content and product teams to drive end-to-end development for both new and existing products. I had line management responsibility for the development team and provided a clear vision of potential challenges in product development, working with business stakeholders.

Primarily, my remit was to design and build a single responsive platform for all company websites to ultimately improve the user experience, increase traffic and simplify analytics. A strategy was formed and executed to improve products for target audiences, which resulted in easier maintenance of websites and content updates. I continually focused on delivering higher commercial revenues for the business and a faster turnaround for the commercial client base, which proved successful.

Successfully appointed the first Head of Audience Development with the remit to grow traffic, revenue and engagement across multiple game and film sites. I introduced new working practices group-wide to support the company in transitioning from a legacy print business to a digital entity. This resulted in reversing the decline of the games division and returned it to a growth status using social media optimisation and engagement strategies.
