About

I am a cultural producer that makes things for people to see and do. I produce theatre at its most analogue and technology led projects at their most cutting edge.

I have produced theatre & live performance since 2001 which has seen me working on productions at BBC Proms, South Bank Centre, Lyric Hammersmith, Edinburgh Fringe, Battersea Arts Centre as well as theatres, village halls, schools, churches and festival tents.

My focus drifted to the spaces we create to host these cultural moments – I coordinated the Southeast branch of somewhereto_, a radical space unlocking project for young creatives; designed programmes for venues and festivals (including for The Old Market, The Basement, Chichester Festival Theatre); and built new festival spaces including co-founding The Warren (Brighton Fringe) and more recently the Chichester Spiegeltent.

As technology began to offer us new spaces for immersive storytelling, I saw how theatre skills can be applied in this new space. At The Old Market, I spearheaded TOMtech – a multi-faceted research & development project pushing the boundaries of performance. Over five years I built partnerships and supported some of the first makers incorporating these tools into their craft. I built a core audience for this work that could sustain a market for LBE. My partners for this included Marshmallow Laser Feast, curious directive, Makropol, Arts Council England, Digital Catapult, BBC, The Guardian, MakeREAL, Unity, Sheffield Doc/Fest and Brighton Digital Festival.

I work as a consultant advising on organisational structure, vision setting, fundraising and audience development. Clients have included Little Angel Theatre, Trinity Theatre, Fast Familiar, Little Lion Ents, Beaded Theory Festival, Brighton Spiegeltent, Brighton Fringe and The Old Market.

During the pandemic I supported many grassroots organisations to access funding, raising over £2.2m for clients to survive and pivot their operations.

SHINY THINGS:
Outstanding Contribution to the Festivals (Brighton Festival Awards 2012)
Best Venue (Brighton Festival Awards 2012)
