Holly Boothroyd

I won the Women in Channel Rising Star Award for a Vendor/Distributor narrowed down from nearly 400 entries and 15 shortlisted nominees. I was recognized for my contributions to the industry through my engineering and D&I advocacy. Judges described me as a "barrier-busting role model" and described my entry as "brave and exceptional".

Narrowed down from over 700 nominations, a panel of judges and public vote awarded me a TechWomen100 award as one of 100 women in 2019. I was given this award for having significant contributions and achievements in my workplace at Microsoft, dedicating my efforts to supporting diversity and inclusion throughout the entire educational and career pipeline, and demonstrating that I am a future leader in tech with plans to uplift others.

I was recognized by Code First: Girls for being an ambitious young woman in technology who has achieved early-in-career success at Microsoft and empowers others through my women in STEM advocacy work both internal and external to Microsoft.

I was shortlisted in the Developer category for creating significant impact on Paint 3D, an incredibly successful development project that Microsoft released globally. Paint 3D is used by millions of people in productivity, education, technology, and philanthropy spaces and has democratized 3D for the masses.

Nominated by the University of Surrey Computer Science Department, I was awarded free professional membership to the British Computing Society for achieving a high performance during my undergraduate studies.

For attaining the highest mark in my degree for all four years of my undergraduate studies, I was granted this award by IBM and the University of Surrey Computer Science Department.

For creating significant impact at my placement company (Microsoft) and achieving the highest placement year mark in my cohort, I was given this award by IBM and the University of Surrey Computer Science Department.

The Computing Society received the Gold STAR award for providing outstanding growth opportunities for our members, promoting diversity within our society, raising money for Code.org, and actively engaging with the students union. This is the first year that the Computing Society has received the Gold STAR award.

I was awarded this title due to my active engagement with the Computer Science department, the Computer Science student body, and the University of Surrey Students Union. I worked to create long lasting positive impact for the students through analyzing student feedback and collaborating with the department to deliver effective change.

I competed in an IoT programming competition against a cohort of 90 students. The judges were leading researchers in the IoT industry.

Awarded for outstanding performance and best mark in the second year of the Computing and Information Technology programme.

Chosen by the University of Surrey for attaining above a first-class mark overall in my first year. Through face-to-face coaching in presentations, resilience, working in groups, and advanced leadership skills I am able to develop further in my academic excellence.

I was in Honor Society every available year of high school (2011-2014) for maintaining above a GPA of 3.5 and volunteering at least 10 hours a semester. I was further awarded the Senior Service Award for exceeding that amount and working over 120 hours of voluntary service.

Over all four years of my high school career, I was a member of the Issaquah Dance Team who was granted the Scholar Athlete award for excelling in school as well as being an outstanding athlete each year I was a member (2010-2014).

Members of honor society are granted this award for spending at least 120 hours on community service. I spent mine working in a preschool over the summer as a teaching assistant. I worked full hour days and assisted teachers and students with learning.

Nominated by my Advanced Placement Computer Science teacher, I was awarded a technology award for outstanding work and demonstrating a passion for future work in the technological field. I was the only award winner in my district.
