What do you do if your boss doesn't understand the value of sustainability in business?
Just make a start. Start small and build momentum. The key is to raise awareness and engage people. A really simple trick is to add a 'Carbon Impact' field to your Change Request form. Most people won't have a clue of the CO2 impact of their change at first, but you'll have succeeded in raising awareness, and soon enough they will 'get it'.

What do you do if your organization wants to achieve sustainability goals using new technology?
Figure out exactly what you need to achieve and plan the milestones needed to achieve it. Identify a stakeholder with influence at the highest levels in the organisation and make sure you’ve their backing, 100%. Only once those elements are in place do you start your technology beauty parade.
