  • The WXO was really proud to support Experience UK with their Experience On Main Street Summit yesterday This panel on #placemaking was one of the highlights Hannah Harris shared fascinating insights & POV on #placemaking in Plymouth - ideas that we think could benefit high streets / main streets everywhere Some of her ideas reminded us of April Soetarman's genius work on "emotional bureaucracy" Because what if, instead of just signposts that tell people WHERE TO GO, we signposts that nudge people HOW TO FEEL? We've asked Hannah to come share in a WXO Campfire - we're sure you'll get a lot from this Jaime Izurieta Varea #futureofcities #cities #urbandesign

  • 🧘♀️ How might you be more present... and what might this mean for the experiences you create? 🔥 Having graced the stage and hosted an intimate conversation parlour at the World Experience Summit, philosopher-provocateur Enrique Enriquez returns to the #WXOCampfire to explore the Hidden Secrets of Everything Everywhere. In anticipation, think clearly of an image that haunts you, whether when you are awake or in your dreams. Something you continually encounter in reality, something you remember from a dream that then reappears in daily life... WXO Members can RSVP now via the Campfire Calendar – and if you're not yet a member, don't miss out on our next season: applications are open now!

  • 🌉 How do you transition people between different phases of the same experience? 🔥 This is the question WXO Member Monica Matei recently posted in our community platform, where all the best discussions start. We’ve talked a lot about how to help people cross the threshold into an experience and return to the real world, but there’s less focus on how to move them through it. So for our next #WXOCampfire, you’re invited to help us co-create an answer to the challenge of how to “cleanse the palate” between spaces, stages or scenes. We’ve done these Open Campfires inspired by community questions before with fascinating results – see our discussion about The Timeline For Transformation, sparked by a question from Jasmin Jodry. WXO Members can RSVP now via the Campfire Calendar – and if you're not yet a member, don't miss out on our next season: applications are open now!

  • 🎭 Here's how you trip the light fantastic ✨ It's been three weeks since we celebrated the World Experience Summit with a closing party at New York's pioneering immersive art space, ARTECHOUSE. We were dazzled by the swooping, shifting, kaleidoscopic, psychedelic dreamscape of the Aṣẹ: Afro Frequencies exhibit. Watch out for a Campfire with ARTECHOUSE coming soon, where we'll dive into the making of this immersive success story... Until then, here are a few of our favourite shots – and a survivors' photo from the end of the night! – that capture the vibe:

  • We want to give a big shout-out to our event partner, The Google Experience Institute / Xi, for bringing two stand-out experiences to this year's World Experience Summit: 1. 🌅 A dreamlike collective experience by Paul Bulencea and collective inviting participants to reflect on The Nature of Experience Design – both how our "modern crisis of comfort" might hinder our relationship with the natural world, and how we might reconnect to it. 2. 🕊️ An opening address and intimate conversation parlour with philosopher-provocateur Enrique Enriquez exploring The Hidden Secrets of Everything Everywhere – how presence is the beginning of every experience, and how we can be more present in the world. Thanks to them and Google Xi for posing questions that challenge and inspire us to consider how we might build a more sustainable, inclusive and connected future together through experiences. We'd love to hear what questions and reflections each session inspired in you – let us know in the comments below... 👇

🌆 We're passionate believers in the power of experiences to revitalise our High Streets & Main Streets. ⚓️ From Heather Gallagher M.Sc.'s Venue Dating Show at our recent Summit to Adam Scott's Campfire on How Experience Design Will Save Our Cities, it's an exciting time for "experience anchors". 🇬🇧 And if you share our belief: the Experience on Main Street Conference, on July 10 in London, is hosting a day dedicated to transforming spaces and places on high streets, in shopping malls and downtown areas. 🎟️ The WXO community can get 10% off the ticket price with the special code WXOEOMS24 – and if you buy tickets before midnight tomorrow, Friday June 28, you can still get their Early Bird rate! 👇For more info and to buy tickets, check the link in the comments below!

  • 🤡 How do you use humor to create community? 🤡 What's the difference between laughing with vs laughing at in how people at your event connect? Why is the inside joke an ace unifier of your group? How can you use these two tools to create a "you had to be there" vibe to help grow your community? Performance Artist Barbara Ann Michaels, Jester of the Peace, will share her insights at today's WXO PlayLab.
