The deadline for the switching off of old copper phone lines is being delayed from December 2025 to January 2027, says Openreach. Obviously this adds about another year to the process, but this is not an especially long time in the world of work. So for businesses, we put together this guide about the background to the switch-off, and what you'll need to consider for the future of your own landlines. There are some things in life you can never fully grasp until they happen to you, and unfortunately, cyber attacks can be one of those things. But, you don't have to experience one for real to get to grips with them: penetration testing (pen testing) – which is essentially the running of a mock attack – can offer insights into your organisation's security like nothing else. So to give you a taster of pen testing, we're running a free webinar on it with our very own Ethical Hacker and Head of Innovation, Rob Shapland. He's a regular on TV shows, so key to his approach is bringing the subject to life and making it accessible for everyone in the organisation, including colleagues beyond the IT department. It's being held at 10am, next Wednesday, 17 July – we'd love to see you there. And, if you'd like to join, but may not be able to do so on the day, register anyway and we'll send you the recording... Which celebrity's voice would you most like to hear when waiting on hold with a contact centre? That's what people were asked by our partner, 8x8, ahead of its event dedicated to customer experience. In this blog, 8x8 reveals the popular big names – some might surprise you – and looks at other customer findings, like waiting times, considering if customers would pay more for their calls to be answered more quickly. Some great insights into customers' experience of call centres right here: Learn more: https://bit.ly/4eUAeYy #contactcentre #contactcentrevoices #CX

From connecting our bank accounts to financial software to signing into apps with our online accounts, we’ve all seen how the cloud can bring services and systems together in our personal lives. The same is true for cloud-based contact centre technology – it can bring together your services to give your customers a joined-up, personalised experience, unite communication channels and integrate analytics across systems. In this new blog, we explain more by joining forces with our partner Five9, which also provides our own contact centre solution! And if you'd like to find out more – and experience the Five9 yourself, get in touch today. Read more: https://bit.ly/3xGdvin #contactcentre #cloud #CX

Every industry has its own unique challenges and needs when it comes to cybercrime, so we were really pleased to attend Securing The Law Firm in London to help legal firms explore ways to minimise the risk and impact of cybercrime. According to the NCSC, nearly three-quarters of the UK's top 100 law firms were targeted by cyber criminals in 2023, which shows the importance of getting to grips with this issue. It was great to join the event! For more information on how we can safeguard your business, get in touch. #cybercrime #Securingthelawfirm #legalservices e-Crime & Cybersecurity Congress Events Series

Where do I start? What a fantastic Event Wavenet ran yesterday evening. Entitled 'Rinsed' Geoff White was there signing his recent book of the same name. He followed that up with an exceptionally interesting talk leading us into stories of state sponsored Cyber Hacks and an African Cyber gang born out of a 1970's political movement. Next up for Geoff was to host an incredibly inciteful panel discussion where, amongst others, .Kanwar Loyal of Cato Networks provided responses to audience questions around current and future Cyber threats and how best to protect against them. There are far to many people to thank them all individually (this is starting to sound like the Oscars) as there were numerous people from the Wavenet team that had a hand in the evenings, success. However I would like to call out two. First up, many thanks to Francis Davis for inviting me along and for inviting Cato Networks to be one of the two main sponsors. Secondly, well done to William Hatton for organising such a top night. Oh yes! The food and drink was also top notch :) Infinigate UK & Ireland #SASE

When we say we help our clients understand the realities of cybercrime, we mean it. Last night, we hosted our "Rinsed" Live dinner event where investigative journalist Geoff White took guests on a tour of the cybercriminal underworld, sharing insightful stories about Black Axe, the "Interflora" of global money laundering. A special thanks to Geoff White and our expert panel— Gira Bhatt, David McIlwaine, .Kanwar Loyal, and Rob Shapland—for their amazing input and knowledge of cyber threats in the current landscape. And a thanks to our sponsors Hoxhunt and Cato Networks. Here are a few pics from the night… #cyberevent #cybercrime
