During March, as we celebrated Women’s Month at Treatwell, we shared some of the incredible achievements of our ‘Women in Tech’ community. Throughout February, they hosted a series of engaging "Learn to code" workshops for Treatwell employees. 🌐👩💻 This month, we’re thrilled to share some of the inspiring feedback from those who took part in the initiative. ✨ We're immensely proud of the dedication and enthusiasm shown by our participants in seizing this learning opportunity. And of course, our Women in Tech group deserves a huge shout-out for not only creating this course from scratch, but also for facilitating each session. This March, as we celebrate Women's Month at Treatwell, we've been showing our appreciation for women who work wonders. Did you know that, according to an Industry Survey published by NHBF in July 2023, a huge 87% of the professionals in the UK’s hair, beauty, and wellness industry are women? From those talented salon pros we partner with, to the wonderful women in our lives, and all the way to the amazing women of Team Treatwell; their contributions to our industry (and our lives) are invaluable. 💙 Our 'Women in Tech' community is a shining example of this, and a glowing testament to our commitment to invest in women - echoing the UN's rallying cry for International Women's Day 2024: “Invest in women: Accelerate progress”. 💪💼 Throughout February, they hosted a series of engaging "Learn to code" workshops, aimed at empowering our internal employees with essential coding skills. Our dedicated instructors led participants through the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, providing insights into how websites function and data is managed. 🌐👩💻 We're so proud of both the instructors and the passionate participants, who are breaking barriers and fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation at Treatwell. Their sessions were interactive, accessible, and fun - proving that coding really is for everyone. 🫶🚀 A huge congrats and a massive thank you to the "Women in Tech" group for making this initiative such a success. Did someone say hackathon? 👀 In November, we brought together 50 keen Treatwell minds from across Europe for our latest hackathon - an event that saw collaboration from teams spanning Marketing, Support, and, of course, Engineering, Product & Design. 👏🤩 This year's challenge was all about "Productivity and Profitability." 💻 After an intense 24 hours, the teams showcased their brilliance to our judges, Maud Larpent, Dominic Bevacqua, & Alessandro Frau. Taking the gold was 'Widget Wizards,' who utilised Swift, Swift UI, Jetpack Glance, and Kotlin to create a customisable widget. This innovation empowers partners to effortlessly manage appointments, plan their day, and keeps customers in the loop about bookings and special offers, on the go. 🥇 Hot on their heels, 'typeof Checkout' secured the silver with a revamped checkout flow ready for production. 🥈 Meanwhile, team 'Ambrogio' snagged the bronze, making use of OpenAI's beta Assistants API to implement language-agnostic treatment browsing, earning the most votes and receiving the Community Award. 🥉 It was so great to see everyone working together, with in person and remote teams across all our locations. Stay tuned, as we're looking forward to sharing these innovations with our customers soon.
