💙 Therapeutic Thought for the Week Therapeutic Parenting is creating a "holding environment" (Winnicott). 💚It helps children feel safe, even when they feel overwhelmed.  🤗It is being emotionally available, supporting, listening, caring and giving guidance.  ❤️🩹 It is picking them up when they fall and helping when they make mistakes. 👨👦 It is being alongside them with their pain. 🏠The holding environment is about you being their home.

💙 Therapeutic Thought for the Week - Belonging Never underestimate the strength of a good relationship with a child in your care, however short the time together. The sense of increased self-worth a child feels if you help them feel they belong, can enable them to gain a sense of belonging elsewhere, with others and when they are older. The sense of belonging you can enable, promotes a sense of lastingness and continuity well into adulthood.
