Move over grey skies, here are some snapshots of our London office's summer celebration... when the skies were blue and we turned our Victoria neighbourhood LIME! 💚 Say hi to the London team, who celebrated in style at one of our local member's businesses, The Onion Garden (member since 13 December 2023). We really mean it when we say our members are at the core of everything we do – even our parties. 🎉

💡 Last week, we attended the PSR's Annual Plan Event where the regulator set out its agenda and priorities for the the sector. Satwik Das, from our Public Affairs team, comments: "Better outcomes for small businesses - the most underserved segment of the market - should be the north star for the Future of Payments in the UK." We'll always fight to ensure small and local businesses are at the forefront of policy discussions.

🎥 What do sport and running a small business have in common? To answer this, Teya chats with Lord Holmes of Richmond. Many thanks to Lord Chris Holmes, Britain’s most successful Paralympic swimmer and current fintech policymaker, for sitting down with our Public Affairs team’s Tamara Yang. In our interview, Lord Holmes discusses his policy focus areas, shedding light on the issues that drive his passion for using technology to drive social change. Teya is committed to improving the regulatory landscape for SMEs and bringing the voice of the merchant to policymakers. Together, let’s empower UK small businesses. #smallbusiness #fintech

In partnership with Startup Coalition, Teya had the opportunity to host a roundtable discussion with Lord Holmes of Richmond, discussing the policy challenges facing fintechs in the United Kingdom. During the roundtable, Leonardo A. from Teya discussed how the payments landscape is not working well for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The government needs to take bold action to ensure SMEs have a meaningful choice and control over the payment methods they accept. When SMEs can exercise this choice, we will see a healthier payments landscape that works for both consumers and merchants. We firmly believe that small businesses are the heart of the economy. As the government begins work on the National Payments Vision and Strategy this year, Teya looks forward to working with them to empower SMEs across the country.
