A week on and we are reflecting on the incredible Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) Automotive Summit 2024 🚘 We are thrilled to share our insights from the event, looking at sustainable energy policies, support for zero-emission vehicle markets, future-proofed jobs, and fair trade relationships. 🎤 A key highlight of the event for us was a panel discussion moderated by energy and mobility partner, Chris Pritchett, on the progress to net zero adoption, this provided key insight into how working towards a net zero future will continue to affect the automotive sector. Some of our key takeaways from the event: 👉 The automotive industry seeks a supportive and stable policy environment for the net zero transition. 👉 There is a need for a comprehensive public information campaign for both new and used EV markets to foster understanding and enthusiasm, ultimately aiding the transition to net zero. 👉 Providing certainty in respect of investments, could all help the UK maintain its current 45% year-on-year exponential growth in the number of public charge points.
