A double dish - April and May Puresport roundup. This one’s big! 🏃♀️The London Marathon. One of the greatest weekends in the PSRC calendar. Quite simply, a belter. Kicking Saturday off, we hosted Londons biggest Shakeout Run, followed up by a Cheer Zone and End Zone for the 160+ community members that ran the marathon. Congratulations to all that gave it a crack. 🍿Our YouTube channel is back up and firing, posting weekly vlogs showcasing the BTS of all things Puresport. Episode 1 of ‘Project Puresport’ achieved 16k views, and the series gives an eye opening insight into the chaos (organised chaos) that is Puresport. Well worth a watch. ✈️ We flew to St Moritz in Switzerland, to shoot our new product launch, two episodes of our Athlete series, and catch up with elite Middle Distance Runners George Mills and Tom Elmer. The content is the best Puresport has ever shot, and elevates the brand to a whole new level, shoutout Georg Mew Jensen and Harry Paine 📸. I was lucky enough to share some Kms with Olympic hopefuls Tom & George, and safe to say, those boys can move! 🇺🇸Daniel Temm, James Dollah and Georg, headed out to Boston, to host a 5km Shakeout Run, catch up with some US ambassadors, release our custom Boston singlets, and support those running the great Boston Marathon. I tell you what, the US could be on here ..! 🎥We shot Episode 8 of the Athlete Series, featuring upcoming Olympic Marathon Runner, Charlotte Purdue. The episode includes an insightful interview, as we dived into the emotions of Charlotte missing 3 Olympic Games, followed by the relief of being selected for Paris. ✍️The team is growing! We recently welcomed our newest recruits; Hilal Husnain (Head of Marketing), Olivia Hunt (Ambassador Partnership Executive) and Connor Hall (Videographer). We have a further 3 employees starting this week including the Head of Finance, Community Manager, and another Ambassador Partnership Executive. To be able to attract the calibre of talent above, is very much a proud moment for the brand, and a great reflection on how far we’ve come. 🏠New Opening! We are delighted to open our new, ‘Hackney Clubhouse’ this weekend, acting as our second specific Run Club space. We are celebrating with an Unofficial Hackney Half Marathon, and 5km Shakeout Run option, followed by a BBQ and some cold ones. All welcome. And finally, a NEW PRODUCT that will change Puresport forever. 🧂On the 30th May, after years of planning, we launch our newest product development. Acting as a ‘best in class’ product, specifically formulated to optimise performance. Tested and approved by the best athletes on the planet. It was a pleasure to spend the day with Beth in Leeds, following her different training disciplines and getting to know what makes her tick. The one key takeaway - there’s no ‘luck’ in becoming the best in the world ..

Q1 done and dusted. Let’s deep dive Puresports last month. 📍We have moved office .. to 5 minutes around the corner. The new space provides a much improved working environment for the (very soon) growing team. It’s also closer to Origin Coffee - huge win! 🏠We have turned our old office into the ‘London Clubhouse’, acting purely as a home for our Southwark Run Club. The move has allowed us to maximise the space, fit in another few hundred people, and create an efficient bag drop and retail area. 🤝 Collaboration with one for the worlds biggest sports brands, PUMA Group , across our East, Clapham, Manchester and Central Run club. To see the Puresport logo next to a giant in the game, will always be a pretty mind blowing sight. 📽️We began releasing our ‘Athlete Series’, featuring World Champions Beth Potter & Jake Wightman, World Medalists Lina & Laviai Nielsen, and International Rugby Player, Ben Earl. The series has gone down brilliantly, averaging over 50k Instagram views on the documentary style videos, and 3,100+ likes on the BTS posts. Some big athletes still to feature! 🚴♀️We had our first weekly Cycle Club of the season, fizzing around Regents Park, before tucking into a brew and pastry. I’ve been told the club isn’t inclusive for Lime Bikes - something I’m working on for the more ‘only here for the coffee and pastry’ sort of consumer. 🏃🏽Ambassador and great friend of the brand, Andy Butchart came down from Scotland to lead our Wednesday PSRC Track Night. Butchy is a double Olympic finalist, boats Scottish records in the 3km, 5km and 10km, and holds the Park Run World Record, so it was brilliant to have him down. Safe to say, he can move! 🇫🇷The whole Puresport team has been in Paris from Thursday-Monday, hosting a Pop up shop, 5km Marathon Shakeout, Cheer Zone, and generally just getting amongst it. The apparel sold out, we had 80+ for the shakeout, and to see people queuing for the pop up store over an hour before it opened was a proud day for the brand. In summary, it’s been a proper, ‘whole team rip in’ sort of month. We go again.

The story of Laviai Nielsen - Jessica Ennis inspired, Tokyo fuelled, Paris bound. Episode 3 of our Puresport Athlete Series follows the British Athletics Captain, and World medalist, Laviai. Laviai has had an unbelievable start to 2024. She won the Indoor British Championships, accompanied on the podium by her twin sister, Lina, making them the first twins in history to both medal at a British Champs. Just weeks later, she was announced as captain of the British Athletics team at her first World Indoor Championships, hosted in Glasgow. Cruising through the heats, Laviai ran a PB of 50.89 in the finals, and finished 4th in the world. The following day, she was drafted into the 4x400m relay team, achieving a Bronze medal, and setting a new British record, in 3:26:36. A truly inspiring women, who is the epitome of driving high standards in everything she does.

One of my favourite interviews to date. Episode 2 of our Puresport Athlete Series features 1500m World Champion, Jake Wightman. A truly unique story. While becoming a World Champion, Jake was fortunate enough to have his dad (and coach) commentating on the race. I’ll give it to him, he’s got a half decent CV (sponsored by Cordyceps). In 2022 alone, he dominated the diamond league meets, winning the 1500m in Morocco,1000m in Monaco and 800m in Brussels, setting two new Scottish records. He topped the year off becoming a World Champion, and being nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. Roll on Paris ..

We have began documenting an Athlete Series, delving into the unique stories of our ambassadors, and trying to understand what makes them tick. Our first episode features friend of the brand, Lina Nielsen, a 400m Hurdler and Yoga teacher, currently training in Denmark. Having grown up in East London, and inspired by the 2012 Olympic Games, Lina began competing with her twin sister, Laviai Nielsen. Achieving early success in her career, Lina became the U20 European Champion and 2x Diamond League Winner. She went on to win a European team championship, and recently achieved a Silver medal at the Indoor 400m British Championships behind Laviai, becoming the first twins in history to medal at a British Champs. At the Indoor World Championships last weekend, Lina and the team set a national record in the 4x400m relay heats. Joined by Laviai in the final, the team took a Bronze medal and set another British record, in 3:26:36. Lina continues to strive towards her first Olympic Games in Paris later this year, and we cannot wait to follow her along. She is one the UKs brightest prospects, and is a true inspiration to aspiring female athletes.
