Tyne Tunnel visited Northern Counties School to see the Sensory Tunnel, which they funded for us 💜 The Sensory Tunnel provides a safe space for our students during transitions, as well as improve their senses and motor skills. The replica tunnel features musical elements and more, and is already a big hit. Paralympian Jim Roberts had a special message for our Percy Hedley School Students ahead of their Olympic themed sports day this week 🥇💜 Roberts, now retired from Wheelchair Rugby, was part of the Great Britain Team that won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Thank you so much for your kind words, it means so much to our students! A team of staff from Percy Hedley School were trained by Rebound Therapy to become trainers themselves 👏💜 This means they can provide in house training to staff which will allow even more pupils to access Rebound Therapy. Rebound Therapy uses the trampoline to provide opportunities for movement, therapeutic exercise and recreation for people across virtually the whole spectrum of additional needs. The therapeutic effect of the trampoline has many benefits on our bodies too, but above all, it is really fun! #training #reboundtherapy #therapy #success

Did you see our Percy Hedley School students on BBC Look North last night? 👀🕊️ They were filmed following their work assisting Groundwork NE and Cumbria with a new Kittiwake tower installed on the river Tyne at Gateshead.
