About us

Paddle offers SaaS companies a completely different approach to their payments infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payments fragmentation, meaning a faster, safer, cheaper, and, overall, better option. We have 350+ talented employees serving over 4000 software sellers in 245 territories globally. Backed by investors including FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North, Paddle aims to define the next wave of B2B SaaS leaders.

We do it for you. A message we’ve been using at Paddle to talk about how as a Merchant of Record we handle your payments, taxes, subscription management, and more. And “do it for you” doesn’t mean we give you the tools to do it. We do it. → Handle the currency conversion. → Fight the chargeback. → Pay the taxes. Over to Philip Watson for this one. He takes a closer look at how we handle your taxes ⤵️

Only 32% of SaaS companies have figured out how to make money from their AI features. After ChatGPT's success, everyone wanted in on the AI game to stay competitive. But in the rush, many just bundled AI into their products without thinking about how to price it. By the end of 2023, most companies were left scratching their heads on how to price their AI offerings. According to our SaaS Benchmarks 2023 report with Openview: 🔹 Only 32% of SaaS companies had a monetization strategy for their AI features 🔹 31% were still experimenting with pricing and packaging 🔹 37% hadn't monetized at all This is a huge opportunity to come up with smart monetization strategies for AI. But how do you price something so new and ever-changing? For companies where AI is the main product, it’s all about creating a new customer journey and getting the value metric right. A good value metric should be: 🔸 Value-Aligned: Pricing should match the value the customer gets. 🔸 Growth-Aligned: As customers use the product more, the pricing should scale. 🔸 Measurable and Implementable: The metric should be clear and understandable for both the provider and the customer.

🚨 CHAOS AHEAD 🚨 (Controlled, intentional and measured that is 😇) Chaos testing essentially injects a little bit of confusion into a system. It’s key to our engineering practices at Paddle, we constantly use it to improve our systems and processes and think it could be invaluable for your business too. Here’s a quick look at how we run it: 🔸 It’s a one-time testing round, done periodically 🔸 Our engineers prepare a micro-service for testing 🔸 They produce a bunch of different scenarios and change the code required 🔸 The scenarios help us test the behaviour of the system in detail when we have a timeout or other service issue
