On Sir Vince Cable’s recent visit, it was great to showcase our research partnership with Coventry University through CCAAR (Centre for Connected and Autonomous Automotive Research). CCAAR was established in 2016 and the partnership has supported several research projects for PhD students across a range of areas critical to the adoption of autonomous technologies including understanding and addressing cyber risks, improving the safety testing and verifying of autonomous vehicle systems, developing an approach for driver re-engagement, and human-centred design for first and last-mile mobility. Our partnership with CCAAR has also helped develop world-class infrastructure for autonomous vehicle testing with ASSURED CAV supported by UK Government and our parent company HORIBA.    It was good to celebrate all we have achieved together and look forward to future areas of partnership providing smart transport solutions accessible to all. #MIRATechPark #TheFutureIsBuiltHere

We were thrilled to recently host a unique gathering aimed at encouraging more businesses to apply for the King’s Award for Enterprise. The event, attended by over 25 ambitious businesses, showcased the opportunity for recognition across the four categories: Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity. Highlights included: ◾ A celebratory opening by Declan Allen, sharing our 2024 King’s Award in Sustainable Development. Declan highlighted how this recognition, following our 2018 Queen’s Award for International Trade, has positively impacted our parent company, suppliers, customers, tenants, and team members. ◾ Inspiring presentations from fellow 2024 winners: Ashley Cooper from Triton Showers (Sustainable Development) and Holly Hunter from Nuneaton Signs (Promoting Opportunity). ◾ Insightful guidance from Ian Borley, Deputy Lieutenant for Leicestershire, on the practical steps of applying. ◾ Engaging Q&A sessions where previous winners shared their experiences and lessons learned. It was a pleasure to welcome Sir Vince Cable back to MIRA Tech Park with over 10 years since his last visit where he opened the first building for the Technology Park. In his former role as the Secretary of State for Business, Sir Vince’s support was critical as we launched our site as an Enterprise Zone and attracted global tenants to secure our place as a world leading future mobility cluster in the heart of the Midlands. We also welcomed Councillor Stuart Bray and Sharon Stacey, Director of Community & Development for Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to thank them for all the support we have had in an invaluable partnership with local and national Government.   Sir Vince’s return visit last week marks the beginning of the next phase of our journey as MIRA Tech Park as we build our offer for grow-on space and manufacture. It was great to showcase tenants like Coventry University, VIRITECH, and Ceres to highlight how we support the development of new UK research and IP through to commercialisation to deliver a Net Zero economy that benefits everyone. With his own current interests in hydrogen and battery electric commercial vehicles, Sir Vince was pleased to see how our engineering and testing has evolved to support decarbonisation across transport from passenger cars to heavy goods vehicles and even off-highway applications. He also visited the MIRA Technology Institute to see how our partnership with further and higher education is creating a local talent pipeline for inclusive growth and opportunities in future transport.   Thanks to Marion Plant, Terry Spall, Simon Dunnett CMgr FCMI, Matt Faulks, Jay Nagley, and Kevin Vincent for supporting the visit and showing what we have achieved together since 2012. It was an inspiring event of teamwork and community spirit as we worked together to keep our local area clean and green. And this is just the beginning, we'll be scheduling more litter picks in our local area over the coming months!   Our commitment to the environment doesn’t stop there.
