Our course, DOVE: Domestic Violence Education aims to bridge training gaps for clinical staff when there is a suspicion of domestic abuse, ultimately enhancing patient safety. The course is a highly interactive, small group training where you participate in short simulated scenarios and interact with simulated patients. It aims to bring different professionals together to further understand challenges and build confidence, skills, and knowledge in dealing with them. Each scenario with simulated patients is followed by a group debrief led by our experienced facilitators. A multidisciplinary course, it addresses the challenges faced when seeing patients in different clinical environments, such as: -how to recognise the signs of abuse -how to pursue the right lines of enquiry -how to identify related risks -when to share information -next steps to take with that individual, using all available pathways. This course is a collaboration between Standing Together and Maudsley Simulation. To commission this course for your team or for more information, contact Loise.Schlauder-Gueguen@slam.nhs.uk.

The Relationship Between Exercise and Mental Health Explained As much as mental health professionals stress the importance of exercise for the betterment of mental health, it’s useful to understand that the relationship between the two is deeply rooted in our physiology and psychology. What that means is that physical exercise is a fundamental component of mental wellbeing. As a clinical educator, with a background in psychiatry, I wanted to write an article to explain the relationship between physical activity and mental health, reflecting on 5 ways exercise and sport can improve our mental wellbeing, and providing tips to optimise its effects. Read the full blog post by Dr Camilla Fadel and learn what science tells us about exercise and mental health. https://lnkd.in/e63QsbXq #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek
