✨ Mental Health Awareness Week - May 13-19, 2024 ✨ This years focus for mental health week is MOVEMENT : How you can start to move more and how movement can support your mental wellbeing. Our team members here at KEMIO are all very different in their hobbies and movement of choice, but the main thing is that we work hard to maintain positive mental health as much as possible. Luckily, movement is something everyone can do, for free, for as little time as you want. It could be a small walk, stretching at your desk, or something more intense. The most important thing is you take time away to MOVE for YOU We asked the team to share how they use MOVEMENT on a regular basis: ⭐ Walking outdoors and in nature, especially when the weather is dry. Even if I don't want to at first, I always get joy from this and feel a sense of achievement ⭐ Dog walks! ⭐ Regular gym sessions and keeping a routine with fitness ⭐ Practising yoga and meditation (although I'm not great at meditating!), I love stretching the body and you don't need to be an expert, plus it's a nice place to meet new people ⭐ Taking time to stretch my neck, legs and arms during the work day ⭐ Taking a walk with friends or family so you can have an open chat at the same time (sometimes it's harder to do this sitting face-to-face) ⭐ Getting involved in team sport, social interaction, and a bit of friendly competition!! We enjoyed reading these story's on the Mental Health Awareness website about moving while living with chronic illness too: https://lnkd.in/eGwGxsaB Please, if you would like some support then reach out to your friends, family, maybe ask them for a walk and a chat. If you'd like to seek help elsewhere, there is always help available via these links (in the UK) https://lnkd.in/ejZss4bY 📸 Photo from one of our lunchtime park walks. We happened to run into a beautiful swan family and their ducklings 😭💔 we smiled for a long time after seeing this
