As designers, we should be striving to make space for biodiversity in the places we create. In JTP's latest Monologue piece, Architectural Assistants Khushi Patel and Will Edwards reflect on their recent beekeeping experience with Bee Urban and discuss the importance of co-evolving with nature. An insightful morning at the NLA Tall Buildings: The Next Decade breakfast seminar earlier this week! Interesting insight from Tom Nancollas from the City of London Corporation, regarding their planned shaping of the city cluster of commercial buildings. Whilst there seems to be a plan for the spatial composition of tall buildings moving forwards, it was noted that stylistic freedom of expression would continue and be actively encouraged. As residential architects, we find it interesting to compare this with proposals for clusters of tall residential buildings, where defining each building's role and their relationships to each other is a crucial element of the design process. #NLA #breakfastseminar #tallbuildings #design #architects #placeamaking #housing

Oaks Phase 1, Prague is shortlisted in the Building Magazine International Project of the Year category!🎉 Located in the rolling Czech countryside, Oaks is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Czech village where life revolves around healthy, active, outdoor living. An international team of designers and masterplanners have collaboratively worked together to ensure the new community is rooted in its local context, aided by the creation of JTP's Pattern Book. Documenting and sketching the unique characteristics and DNA of Czech villages, our Pattern Book served to inform every aspect of the project in terms of form, building typologies, colour, materials and landscape. Curating a narrative and sense of identity in the delivery of a new place requires patience and an innovative foresight of what sites can become. The recent West London Business Property Lunch showcased one such project, this year being hosted at West London's most imaginative regenerations at The Green Quarter, Southall. A morning tour and padel tournament was followed by a wonderful lunch and presentations including from JTP Partner, Emmet O'Sullivan who was welcomed as a guest speaker discussing the transformation of the former gasworks and our involvement in that process since 2013 with St George (Berkeley Group Plc). In an exciting new era for Stonebridge Boxing Club, Brent Council has granted planning permission for the charity’s new cutting-edge facility on the site of the disused King Edward VII Park pavilion building. Providing a dedicated space for youth and community activities, the club provides a valuable and structured environment to the people of Brent, offering them a safe setting for physical activity and personal development. JTP has supported Regal London and AC DESIGN SOLUTIONS LTD with pro-bono planning support to deliver the new long-term home for the boxing club, which will encompass a gym and sporting areas, physio rooms, changing facilities, and a café open to the public. It has been our pleasure to help the club find its permanent home so they can evolve and continue their invaluable work with the Brent community.
