🌟 A Site of Outstanding Universal Value 🌟 7th July, 2024 marks five years since Jodrell Bank Observatory was officially named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, described as an "exceptional technological ensemble...which led to radical changes in the understanding of the universe." Since then we've opened an award-winning new pavilion, held inspiring events, shown groundbreaking exhibitions, hosted guests from across the worlds of science, art and culture, and welcomed thousands of visitors eager to learn about the wonders of the universe. Unique Event Spaces- First Light Pavilion, Macclesfield, Cheshire This feat of architectural engineering reveals the fascinating history behind one of the world’s leading radio astronomy observatories and the UK’s newest UNESCO World Heritage Site. Designed by award-winning architects HASSELL Studio, the grass-topped 76 metre-diameter dome mirrors the shape of the Lovell Telescope with its perfectly curved edges.
