Everyone has an opinion on what AI is, what it can, and what it should, do.    Our top three favorited education sessions at IMEX Frankfurt were all about AI. We want to know more—we all want the facts. What does it do? And how can we use it?    MIT Technology Review, https://lnkd.in/gQgpwYVX, explores what we know and what we think we know about Artificial Intelligence “the way we talk about AI is more polarized than ever” explains MIT. And the narrative around AI has people across all industries talking. Is AI going to take your job? Probably not. Should it help free up your time to do what's really important? Yes.  As the article explains, those on the AI cutting edge don't have a straight answer on the future of AI and what it'll look like in five years, 10 years and beyond. But what MIT does explain is exactly how AI works today and the background debate that has been going on for decades.

Impactful connection at the heart of events. Networking has always had a crucial role to play in business events. However, the purpose of networking - how we do it, where we do it, even what we call it - has shifted. The next generation of event profs are entering the workplace with different needs and expectations around how we use live events to connect.  This report, from Skift Meetings, delves into the detail, covering the use of event design, personalization and technology. Our own head of programming, Tahira Endean, MsC, CITP, CMP, CED, shares advice on how to design in wellbeing to boost the impact of connecting. She explains: “The basics for a networking event should include good food and hydration, access to nature, and small spaces with a hum of conversation but not an overwhelming amount of sound.” Read more here….

Companies increasingly use events to bring together remote workers, making networking an even more vital component of in-person events. Ken Holsinger, senior vice president of strategy for Freeman Company, sees a shift in the current demographics’ priorities. Younger generations prefer to participate in discussions at conferences rather than sit and listen to experts. “Millennials and Gen Z are struggling to catch up quickly with the skills and environment for building the kind of network they need for their careers. The number one place they want to accelerate that is at events,” said Holsinger. Download our latest report now to turn your events into dynamic environments that foster genuine connections.
