    New! Materials Library Video - Polyamide Polyamide, commonly known as Nylon, is a versatile polymer with several desirable properties. It exhibits high tensile strength, excellent wear resistance, and good chemical stability. Nylons are lightweight, making them suitable for various applications, including automotive components, textiles, and medical devices. Additionally, they have low friction coefficients, making them ideal for gears and bearings. Their semi-crystalline structure contributes to their mechanical strength and thermal stability. Plasma treatment is an effective method for enhancing adhesion to polyamide surfaces. When exposed to plasma (ionized gas), the surface of the polyamide becomes activated. This activation leads to increased surface energy, making it more receptive to adhesives. Plasma treatment removes contaminants, improves wettability, and creates functional groups on the surface, allowing better bonding. Overall, plasma treatment significantly enhances the adhesion properties of polyamide materials.     Celebrating Our Work Experience Stars at Henniker Plasma! This week, we've had the pleasure of hosting two brilliant young talents, Chris Storey and Seb Pendergast, from LYMM HIGH SCHOOL in Warrington. They jumped right in and experienced the full journey of an HPT plasma system, from picking to packing, and they did a fantastic job! They worked on various tasks including test procedures, quality checks, wiring, fault finding, diagnostics, pump maintenance, mechanical assembly, hand-held tool use, and order-picking procedures. Their enthusiasm and dedication were evident throughout their time with us, and we're delighted to hear they enjoyed the experience. We wish Chris and Seb all the best in their future endeavours and are confident they have bright careers.
