We support men and women who have been physically or psychologically wounded while serving in the British Armed Forces.

About us

At Help for Heroes, we believe those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds; their lives changed forever. We help them, and those still serving, to recover and get on with their lives. We give them physical, psychological, financial and welfare support for as long as they need it. We also support their families, because they too can be affected by their loved one’s wounds. We receive almost no funding from the Government, which means we rely on the spirit and generosity of the great British public, our partners and volunteers to keep going. Rest assured, we continue to put pressure on the Government to do more. So far, with your help, more than 25,000 people have been supported, but we know that many more still need us. We won’t stop until every wounded veteran gets the support they deserve. The election's over. 31,000 signatures on the Veteran's Pledge. 1,170 supporters wrote to their local candidates. Over 50 candidates, spanning all major parties, publicly showed their support to the Veterans Pledge. Now, what? We are ready to work alongside policymakers to ensure all government departments recognise their responsibilities to veterans and their families. The King's Speech on 17 July will set out the new Prime Minister's legislative agenda and his government's upcoming priorities. We welcome the Labour Party’s election manifesto commitment to enshrine the Armed Forces Covenant fully into law - national government and a wider range of policy areas must be brought within its scope. Army veteran Kevin Muldoon has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder since his first tour of Northern Ireland 49 years ago. Over the years, it robbed him of his family, home and health. "Help for Heroes has helped me turn my life around. The scars won’t go away and I still have the nightmares; but now I also have hope and a reason to live. Thank you for helping me find that again.” If you're thinking of leaving a gift to Help for Heroes in your Will, Kev is living proof of the difference you can make.
