Last Thursday, the next phase of work at Collyhurst, part of our ambitious £4 billion Victoria North regeneration project in Manchester, were approved at Manchester City Council’s latest Executive Committee Meeting. With work well underway on the first 274 homes, we’ve been spending time engaging with the local community about how the future phases will impact them. The response has been fantastic and has helped us craft new principles to take us forward, including: 👨👩👧👦 Putting the community at the heart of developing proposals for their neighbourhood 🤝 Retaining the existing community 🏠 Bringing more affordable homes to Collyhurst 💚 Growing a sustainable neighbourhood for existing and future residents With the Council’s approval, we can now move forward with this next phase to ensure we’re delivering for the people of Collyhurst now and in the future.

It’s birthday-cake only this week down at Red Bank Arches! 🎂 That’s right, Half Dozen Other, Manchester’s favourite bakery pop-up is celebrating turning one. And what better way to mark the occasion than by opening their first permanent shop to provide bakery fanatics with a regular order of unique, eccentric pastries masterminded by head baker, Mark Wegner, and the exceptional team. The new café will be open seven days a week with plenty of seating available for those wanting to get comfortable and enjoy a sweet treat or a coffee in a beautifully designed space. All the team here at FEC will admit to enjoying a regular trip to Half Dozen Other, so we are excited about this opening in our Red Bank Arches development as anyone else! #Bakery #Manchester

Victoria North: FEC executes £210m contract with CR Construction to deliver latest phase of Red Bank Riverside Far East Consortium (FEC), the developer working in a joint venture-partnership with Manchester City Council (MCC) to deliver Manchester’s transformative £4 billion Victoria North regeneration project, has appointed CR Construction to deliver the next phase of 895 homes at the vibrant Red Bank neighbourhood.   Representatives from FEC and CR Construction were in attendance at a signing ceremony on site on Wednesday 17th July to celebrate this significant milestone in the development process.   FEC secured planning permission in August 2023 for 1,551 new homes, across plots known as NT02, NT03 and NT04, along Dantzic Street, together with a separate outline planning permission for a further 3,250 new homes within Red Bank under its transformative ‘Wild Urbanism’ concept which seeks to prioritise green space, biodiversity and active travel.   CR Construction is currently working on FEC’s neighbouring 634-home Victoria Riverside development which is due to complete in early 2025. Building on the success of this partnership, CR Construction will now deliver the next phase of Red Bank Riverside on plots NT02 & NT03 on Dantzic Street, which will include a collection of three towers reaching 20, 31 and 34 storeys-high, and another mid-rise, nine-storey block set within extensive public realm.   The scheme was designed by HawkinsBrown Architects and Schulze+Grassov in collaboration with Optimised Environments landscape architects.   Works https://lnkd.in/eQ28KsNm

Wharf Life’s coverage of our first Dragon Boat Festival, has us reminiscing on what was a fantastic day last month. For those who missed it, we brought the community together for an exhilarating dragon boat race, with all proceeds going to the East End Community Foundation’s ‘Life Chances Campaign’. This campaign is dedicated to creating opportunities and making a significant impact in areas of youth unemployment, pension poverty and isolation and digital inequality. As proud patrons of the charity, we are honoured to be involved in the impactful work they do through various fundraising events throughout the year. It also marked the culmination of FEC’s Positive Impacts Week, where colleagues from across the business came together to take small actions that make big differences for our communities. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped us raise funds. We can’t wait for the next one! To read more about the event and its impact, check out the article here https://lnkd.in/esGuPckE

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, Mayor Andy Burnham and newly-appointed CEO of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Caroline Simpson to our Collyhurst Village project, alongside partners from Manchester City Council.   Leader of MCC Bev Craig and FEC’s Strategic Partnerships Director Tom Fenton, talked the Deputy PM through the ambitious plans for the area and the importance of embedding the existing community within them, before walking the site and sharing an overview of the entire £4bn Victoria North site.   Once complete, the first phase of the development will provide 274 new low carbon homes – including 130 homes for social rent - alongside enhancements to amenities, public realm and infrastructure, while also retaining and enriching the essence of Collyhurst.
