Our Europa Road team in Cardiff team is marking the successful delivery of a harp, just in time for the International Welsh festival - Eisteddfod 👏 The local team of 7 recently successfully transported a harp for Cambrian Harps from Brandenburg, Germany to the Eisteddfod festival. Not only did the team hit the right note with this customer, but in June the branch exceeded its consignment record by logging an impressive record for the month. Adrian Redmile, Branch Network and Sales Director, commented: “Across our branches we manage some really unique cargo and Cardiff is no exception with its latest job. This is a great example of how our expertise and infrastructure, despite the tight time frames, can ensure the seamless movement of goods between the EU and the UK. Europa Air & Sea is aware of multiple reports from Airlines, Ports and ground handling partners being affected by a mass Microsoft outage. The outage is of global scale and has resulted in the grounding of flights from multiple carriers including American Airlines, Delta airlines & Quantas. The IT outage has also disrupted UK ports which has resulted in failed collections. Services are coming back online as Microsoft continue to mitigate the issues; however, we do expect disruption to continue today and have a knock-on effect throughout the coming weekend. In the 2024 Big Sheds Prospects report, growth in demand for online retail year on year, and an increase in manufacturing-related take up in warehouses, will equate to the need for up to 48 million sq ft of additional 3PL space by 2027. Experiencing this demand first hand, Europa Warehouse has secured thirteen new customers and gained over £11m worth of additional revenue, in the past six months. Today is World Youth Skills Day which celebrates the importance and need to impart the right skills to equip young people for future employment. At our Dartford headquarters and logistics 1Hub, we recently hosted three pupils from local schools for a few days. Their experience with the team included learning about logistics as well as some other broader essential elements of a successful business such as HR and procurement. Danny Peate’s son Frankie aged 12 is from Aylesford School and is pictured. Frankie spent time in our warehouse office which oversees the management of European road freight shipments. Frankie was joined in the work experience sessions by children of other members of the Europa team, Mat Jobson, Regional Manager, as well as malcolm castle our General Manager for Dartford. Educating the next generation is an important part of our work and support for Generation Logistics which is a national industry campaign to enlightening 13–24-year-olds about logistics.
