We are delighted to announce the formation of a new joint ESCCAP National Association in Slovakia and Czechia. The new National Association will be led by Dr. Martina Miterpáková DVM, DSc from the Institute of Parasitology, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Košice, Slovakia and Prof. David Modrý DVM, PhD from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, Czechia.

ESCCAP Ukraine is working on a project to discover the parasitological hazards of companion animals during conditions of war. DNA detection by PCR has confirmed the presence of Dirofilaria repens, Dirofilaria immitis and Acanthocheilonema reconditum. Ongoing efforts will also include screening for the presence of Leishmania spp. Thank you to our Ukrainian colleagues and fellow volunteers for carrying out this work in high-risk areas such as Kharkiv and Sumy.
