Our Lead Data Scientist Oduwa Edo-Osagie took their sabbatical last year - “It was a great way to reset mentally and do some personal learning. I like to do little side projects to try out and learn new technologies or techniques and having the free time during my sabbatical allowed me to learn about topics that interested me. Last week, Depop held its annual ‘Day of Depop’, bringing our UK and US teams together to celebrate another year of making fashion circular! 🍾 The day kicked off with ‘Depop’s Den’, where our Hack Week finalists showcased their innovative tech ideas. Over 300 Depoppers took on a scavenger hunt around East London with Let's Roam, ending at our incredible summer party where we celebrated with delicious street food, Tick Boom face painting, crafting courtesy of Daisy Lily and Blingo Hip Hop Bingo. Shout out to our vendors: Lil Watan, Vegan Spice, Fluffy Puffin, Chop and Chip, and Margo & Rita. The Day of Depop truly embodies our culture, showcasing the creativity, innovation, and community that defines us. Last week, the Queer@Depop ERG took over Vibes to celebrate queer joy and community at Depop with a very special Pride@5, spotlighting queer-owned businesses and creatives. We celebrated with some incredible Drag performances from Maria and Vidya of Soft Play Area, Valentín and Cabbage the Clown, delicious canapés provided by queer-owned caterer Butch Salads, and Kween Kream returned to Depop HQ with Pride-themed sweet treats ✨

🌟 This month for Mental Health Awareness Week, Depop's Wellbeing Employee Resource Group curated a series of activities that encouraged employees to nurture themselves and prioritise their mental health by taking time out for themselves during the working day. Each activity was designed to offer opportunities for employees to connect with themselves and their colleagues as well as normalising discussions around mental health. 🧘♀️ We kicked off with a sound bath, followed by a rejuvenating yoga session and breakfast, and an embroidery pop-up at London HQ. As usual at our London office, our canine friends were welcome to join! We wrapped up with a 'Cleanse and Clear' session hosted by Self Space - a mental health spring clean to bid farewell to any burdens as we navigate through the mid-year. 🌱 Depop is dedicated to prioritising the mental and physical wellbeing of its teams. We offer regular access to Self Space therapy sessions, monthly yoga and shiatsu, and a dedicated mental health group that hosts quarterly meetups. Additionally, we provide a safe space Slack group and a supportive forum for employees to connect and share internally. #MentalHealthAwareness #Wellbeing
