Deep Render is a London based AI start-up, developing the next generation of media compression algorithms.
About us
Deep Render is a deep tech startup developing the next generation of image and video compression technology using an AI-first approach. We are the first mover in the field, and our patented algorithms are at the forefront of the machine learning revolution. Our state-of-the-art results provide up to 80% improvement over previous standards. With the largest leap in compression performance in history, we enable content owners to increase available markets and reduce costs dramatically. Additionally, 80% smaller filesize is equivalent to 5X'ing the bandwidth capacity of the world, generating trillions of dollars of value for society. Visit deeprender.ai for more information.

Yesterday evening, our Internal Business Team traded their laptops for aprons and became pizza chefs for the evening at Ponti's Italian Kitchen 👩🍳 We traded our desks for dough, learning how to create the perfect pizza from scratch. From kneading and tossing to topping and baking, which resulted in some seriously delicious pizza 🤤 Check out these snapshots from our pizza-making adventure – it was a slice of fun! 😁 🍕

Deep Render has been getting involved with Mental Health Awareness Week and raising money for Mental Health UK. We've had a Deep Render bakeoff, with Evan Caton being our star baker and winning the literal wooden spoon, a step-count competition won (convincingly) by Lewis Breslin and our team wore green today to raise awareness for a great cause! 🎉 More events and activities coming later this week 🚀

Have you ever wondered how AI-based codecs work? Our Co-Founder Arsalan Zafar provides some insights below 🚀 Video: https://lnkd.in/e7ffwcSs Article: https://lnkd.in/ep9bffi9
While many companies leverage AI to enhance the performance of existing codecs like H.264, HEVC, and AV1, UK-based Deep Render is developing a fully AI-based codec. To promote the understanding of AI codec development, Deep Render's CTO and Co-founder, Arsalan Zafar, has launched an educational resource titled "Foundations of AI-Based Codec Development: An Introductory Course." In a recent interview with Streaming Media Magazine, Zafar provided insights into the course's content, target audience, and expected outcomes. This lesson is a great (free) way to learn how true AI codecs work and how to develop one.

Deep Render's April social was a painting class courtesy of Paintvine UK! Together, we all voted to paint Roys Peak, a mountain which just so happens to be located where our office manager (and organiser of the social) Allie Donoghue-Hunt is from 🧐 Turns out that at Deep Render, we have some seriously good artists among us, but there are definitely one or two outliers 😅

Deep Render had its first external speaker give a talk this week! Jan Ozer, a leader in the video codec space, gave us a presentation about how traditional codecs behave in the low-latency regime, and presented his findings from a recent codec study on video conferencing data 📹 Here at Deep Render, we're always excited to learn from the experience and knowledge of external speakers - looking forward to more talks on exciting topics in the future! 🚀

Deep Render didn't have to venture very far for this month's social. We hosted an in-office games night, kicking off with a company-wide pub quiz and a team favourite dinner, Honest Burgers Ltd! After that, we jumped into board games, table tennis and Nintendo Switch 🎮 Special thanks have to go to Seb Day for being our quizmaster (completely coincidental that his team won 👀) Want to be part of the next social?
