Reflecting on the recent UK election results and speaking to some of my contacts in the construction sector, it's clear that there is now an expectation of a period of significant change under the new Labour government. With a manifesto that promises to address the pressing issues of planning reform and housing shortages, the industry is poised for a potential upswing in activity. The commitment to build 1.5 million homes over the next parliament could invigorate the sector, driving employment and stimulating economic growth. That housebuilding target - combined with the ambitious targets on infrastructure - are going to need a lot of workers with the right skills and qualifications to meet the challenge. For me, that will be the most interesting development to watch in the coming months and years... #construction #recruitment #talent #newgovernment #labour
