The Concentric AB rugged cast iron F20 and F30 Ferra Series external gear pumps perform up to 275 Bar (4,000 psi) continuously, at temperatures up to 96°C (205°F), and speeds up to 3,600 rpm, with high volumetric efficiency – making it a front runner in its category in the market. These gear pumps also offer a choice of mounting flanges, shafts and shaft seals, rotation, port size, and port location. This series can incorporate multiple pump sections and are available in through-drive versions. Some key differentiators in our design: • Reliable, efficient, serviceable design Single and thru-drive pumps are of a three-section modular design. The front and rear covers are cast iron for reliability, strength, and noise reduction. The proprietary break-in process results in a high volumetric efficiency. The thru-drive pump is a single pump with a mounting pad and coupling spline in its rear cover, allowing a second pump to be mounted and driven in tandem. Double pump options can have their own inlet and outlet ports or share a common inlet. The pump will have one common input shaft. This compact unit can, therefore, serve two separate hydraulic circuits, or supply greater volume to a single circuit through the combined delivery of both pumps. Besides offering greater design flexibility to hydraulic system designers, thru-drive and double pumps reduce installation costs since they allow multiple pump operations from a single mounting and drive point. • Heavy-duty construction One-piece gear design eliminates the potential problems of fretting and stress fatigue associated with a two-piece component. The one-piece design also allows large-diameter journals and bearings for greater load-carrying capacity. • Minimum leakage and wear Concentric pumps utilize a proprietary break-in process to achieve minimal leakage and high volumetric efficiency of 95% or greater. Concentric’s new HVMPU (High Voltage Motor Pump Unit) offers entry into the world of high-voltage hydraulics. Due to its voltage range of 600-850 V, the HVMPU can directly be operated on the high-voltage board network of a vehicle. With a nominal motor output power of 7.5 kW with full variability CAN controlled speed range of 0-4000 rpm, the unit provides sufficient output power for a large number of hydraulic applications. Together with the proven external gear pumps of the CALMA series, and the new internal gear pumps of the IGP series, the unit has been optimized for low noise applications. In line with Concentric AB’s group efforts to minimize our environmental impact through operations, the Concentric Birmingham team has been working on improving its facility’s sustainable impact, and in turn, improving on its SECR results.   The Streamlined Energy and Carbon reporting framework (SECR) is a mandatory UK-wide reporting process to improve transparency and help reduce UK carbon emissions associated with business and industry.   Some of the employee-driven activities that ensured a greatly improved result, included •      Replacement of 220 workshop High-bay Fluorescent Tubed panels, •      Removal of localized lighting across the shop floor, •      Transitioning the current Company Car fleet with Fully Electric vehicles, •      Energy reduction program across the workshop, isolating energy needed to power the workshop plant, •      Program to identify & fix compressed Air-Leaks, helping reduce costs whilst optimizing compressor use, and more.   The SECR reports that from Jan-23 to Dec-23 the total electricity consumption at the plant is 12% lower than that in the same period during 2022. Total direct transport consumption was 40% lower year on year.   As part of a continuing and evolving process and the team are already actively working on further sustainability opportunities to support the business through 2024 and beyond.   The company commits to continuously improving its operations using the concentric business excellence methodology, which is deeply rooted in the site’s culture to drive efficiency across all of its operations.   #sustainability #energyefficiency #OneConcentric

Concentric AB is at the forefront of high-voltage component technology and is a leading innovator in thermal management solutions. Our EMP-branded range of high-voltage fans and coolant pumps was developed for use in the heavy-duty commercial EV sector. At a nominal 700V DC, the powerful 15-inch fan can produce up to 4,000 CFM (6,760 m3/h) of airflow at a static pressure of 2.0 in H2O (498 Pa). This performance has never been achievable from any low-voltage component of similar package size. The high-voltage coolant pumps can also produce superior performance compared to low-voltage counterparts of similar spatial geometry, allowing Concentric to offer a full range of high-voltage coolant pumps with power ranges from 1 to 5KW. These include the well-developed features and durability of our proven low-voltage pumps, including the seal-less technology. Typical applications include battery-, power electronics- and fuel cell cooling. The brushless DC 32-inch electric fan is capable of up to 20kW of power while producing an airflow of 19,000 CFM at 4.1 in H2O. At 700V DC nominal, the fan will consume 28A at max power. To achieve the same power from a 24V fan would require nearly 850A, and even if technically feasible, the electrical load and physical size of an 850A fan would be prohibitive for almost any real-world application. In this case, high-voltage technology allows for electrification in extreme applications that are traditionally reserved for large belt-driven fans or hydraulic fans powered by internal combustion engines. It is worth mentioning that the high-voltage Fans are air-cooled, and therefore do not require any coolant supply and thereby make the need for hoses and additional pumps obsolete. Concentric continues to lead the way for innovation in electric components and subsystems by working directly with leading global OEMs to optimize technology for the heavy-duty commercial EV sector. Recent innovations include CAN control and CAN-based monitoring of the high-voltage interlock loop (HVIL), fully sealed touchless high-voltage electrical connections, and advanced embedded motor controls offering full variable speed and reversibility.
