What’s in a name!? Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® is the result of nearly 60 years of continuous development, but many people are curious about the name's origin. The journey began with an early version called Colorcoat HP200®. In 1998, the product evolved into Colorcoat HPS200® with the introduction of the Scintilla® emboss, the Galvalloy® metallic coating, and an extended colour palette. The most recent generation of Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® was launched in 2008, featuring advanced topcoat technology and a phthalate-free formulation. This version also introduced an extended Confidex® Guarantee of up to 40 years. The name has remained consistent for what it stands for, for nearly 40 years with "HPS" standing for "High Performance Scintilla®" – see below for a snapshot of literature over the years! #evolution #buildingenvelope #Colorcoat

Earlier this month, we partnered with Euroclad Group Ltd and Hambleside Danelaw to host the second edition of the roadshow, "Constructing a Sustainable Future" at RSA House in London. The event featured presentations from industry experts, including Dave Taylor, Business Development Manager, who provided an overview of our decarbonisation journey for the Colorcoat® products, including the plan for our green steel future. In honour of World Environment Day this week, our Environmental Graduate Emma Wright, led members of our Colorcoat® commercial team from across Europe on a biodiversity walk at the Shotton site. The tour included the tern lagoons, which provide a safe nesting area for Common Terns, as well as our nature reserve and bird observation hides, established over 10 years ago. Due to its significance as a breeding location, the settlement pond complex (Shotton lagoons and reed beds) was designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in 1999. Over the years we have been proud that this has encouraged one of the largest Common Tern colonies in Wales. Biodiversity is a key focus area in our Shotton sustainability commitment, and we love sharing our rich biodiversity with visitors to the site. #WorldEnvironmentDay #Biodiversity #Sustainabilitycommitment

This month, the Colorcoat® team hosted several visits to Shotton Works, including a notable one from our supply chain partner Trimo. Their sales team from the UK, along with colleagues from head office, joined us for an informative tour. The visit featured the Galvanising line, the No.1 Colorcoat line as well as an overview of our decarbonisation journey, along with key highlights of our sustainability commitment at Shotton. The Colorcoat® team was pleased to visit supply chain partner FALK Panel USA last week at their new prestigious flagship facility in Grand Rapids near Michigan. The visit included a tour of several buildings featuring Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® and Colorcoat Prisma® used within FALK Panel USA building systems. Both Colorcoat® products are regularly used around the world and offer significant benefits for the US and Canadian building envelope markets. Discussions focused on future collaboration, joint activities, and developments. We look forward to working more closely with FALK Panel USA with many exciting developments in the pipeline!
