This Pride Month we are launching a new product feature which allows our telephone interpreting customers to request LGBT+ sensitive interpreters as their default. Interpreting for LGBT+ individuals can require additional care, attention and sensitivity. Interpreters must understand particular terminology and be especially aware of the cultural nuances communicated by certain words or phrases. Whilst our customers have always been able to request an LGBT+ sensitive interpreter on an ad hoc basis, for organisations who regularly conduct conversations that concern these issues, activating the new setting will save time and ensure they always receive the subject sensitivity required! If you are a Clear Voice customer and would like to opt-in to this new feature, please contact your account manager directly. #inclusivity #pride #interpreting

Thank you to everyone who attended our event for Refugee Week in collaboration with Migrateful. Guy Swarbreck Tiffiny Gregory Ann-Marie Douglas Usha Manojkanth Laura Camerer Cuss Hattie Godber Samuel Bromiley Aston Azrielle Atkinson Roxanne Nanton André Dias Silva Carolin Sternecker
This Refugee Week, we are celebrating the power both food and interpreting have to make people feel at home. To mark the week, we hosted a cookery class in collaboration with the fantastic charity Migrateful. The class was delivered by Hero, a Kurdish chef from Northern Iraq and assisted by Golzar, a Kurdish Sorani interpreter who works with Clear Voice. Our guests were taught how to prepare a range of Kurdish dishes from Hero's own recipes and once the cooking was done, we enjoyed the gorgeous food together, family style. Language and food have an incredible ability to transport us. They remind how diverse the world is; all the people and experiences we can learn from. And ultimately, they remind us how rewarding welcoming and supporting this diversity is.

Refugee Week is a time to learn from each other’s unique experiences and celebrate the benefits of a welcoming, inclusive society. We made that a reality with our Refugee Week cookery class, giving guests the chance to learn Kurdish cuisine from Hero, a talented chef who came to the UK from Northern Iraq. A huge thanks to Migrateful for hosting this wonderful event. #RefugeeWeek #Cookery

Our Refugee Week cookery class celebrated the power food and interpreting have to make people feel at home. Hero (on the left), is a talented chef from Northern Iraq and she taught our guests how to prepare a fantastic array of Kurdish dishes. Hero was excited at being able to deliver this class in her native language, Kurdish Sorani, thanks to the assistance of Golzar (on the right), an interpreter who works with Clear Voice. Thank you to Migrateful for helping us host such a wonderful event to mark #RefugeeWeek
