"When reflecting on the importance of inclusion in tech, we must look beyond just the boundaries of our workforces, and take an inclusive outlook on the services that we provide to the population as a whole. Digital exclusion is a real and growing problem in the UK, disproportionately impacting the most vulnerable groups in society.   Essential services such as healthcare, education and financial assistance are becoming increasingly digitised, making digital skills and access to devices critical to everyday life. As a result of this shift, there is a common misconception that we are living in a completely digital society, but the statistics show that there are entire communities slipping through the cracks." In our guest blog for Tech Talent Charter, Peter Hayne, Community Relations and National Town Planning Manager at Cellnex UK, discusses the process of building our social value programme in a way that ensures our contribution to digital inclusion is authentic and impactful. We've had a very busy week so far attending some of the industry's most important events!   Both our Global and UK Senior Executive teams have been at TowerXchange Meetup Europe, with CEO Marco Patuano delivering a key note session. In addition to this, our teams facilitated and participated in several roundtable discussions on topics including Shared Rural Networks and AI.   We've also been at Small Cells World Summit, with Mike Harrison Head of Products, Solutions and Marketing, delivering an engaging session on 5G and Densification - how we're doing, what we've learned and where we're going.   Our team also attended #ConnectedNorth earlier this week, where we had lots of important discussions around bridging the digital divide, and how the public and private sectors can work together to address regional challenges and drive positive change.

Today is Earth Day, a reminder that we all must do more to protect our planet. Environment is the first of the three components of ESG, and is fundamental to the way that Cellnex does business. In 2023, we achieved some significant sustainability milestones: 💡 77% of the energy we sourced was renewable - great progress towards our target of 100% renewable energy by 2025 🏭 we reduced our total emissions by 51% compared to 2020 🌍 78% of our suppliers have told us about their environmental impact, allowing us to better measure and plan against the impact of our supply chain There's still plenty of work to do, and our commitment to a more sustainable future remains at the core of our business strategy.
