A typical challenge for control room operators is the inherent time delay between taking a quality sample and feeding the result into the plant’s advanced process control (APC) system. This means that operational decisions are made based on information that is, at best, 1-2 hours out of date. Resulting in both over- and under-burning of the clinker due to the reactive nature of the control. With AI-forecasted clinker quality measures, operators benefit from a real-time understanding of the kiln conditions, meaning that they don’t need to wait for physical samples to return from the lab to enact changes. This ensures the most efficient burning while maintaining optimal clinker quality, enabling plants to be proactive instead of reactive in their pyroprocess. To learn more about how Carbon Re can improve your combustion efficiency and improve your clinker quality, you can download our product brochure from our website. https://hubs.li/Q02GJvgY0

❓What if there was a solution that increased your expert system’s effectiveness and utilisation? It’s a tale as old as time: an expert system is installed, and the control room operators rejoice at the new tool that will stabilise their plant. Some time later, its effectiveness drifts and operators limit it to minimise its control or turn it off entirely. Expert systems are programmed with static, offline models, meaning that they inherently suffer from model drift. Model drift is the loss of effectiveness of a model over time. As plant conditions change, such as due to a new fuel mix or equipment degradation, the rules governing the expert system no longer fit the plant as well as they did when it was first commissioned. Carbon Re unlocks the full potential of your expert system with our state-of-the-art AI models that continuously adapt to the current conditions in your plant, automatically setting the optimal set-point targets. This eliminates maintenance engineer callouts and increases trust in your expert system. 🔥 Ensuring complete combustion without over-burning fuel is critical in cement production. While operators are supported by advanced process control tools to control combustion, these solutions maintain the kiln in a stable condition but cannot optimise the process by finding the optimal set point targets. That's where AI comes in. To learn how advanced AI models can help operators avoid incomplete combustion, minimise fuel waste, and reduce specific heat consumption and carbon emissions, read Jessica Rigley's blog on our website. 👇 https://hubs.li/Q02FlNKx0 #kilncombustion #cement #cementproduction #cementindustry #industrialAI #AI #industrialdecarbonisation

Carbon Re team on-site in Czechia 🇨🇿 Last week Daniel Summerbell, Michael Craig and Kenneth W. made the trip out to one of our customer's plant to debrief some exciting results and to build out our long-term development roadmap. We always find site visits invaluable. From our product to machine learning teams, it's an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the plant's operations, challenges, and goals. This on-the-ground understanding helps us develop our models to be more effective for each plant and to ensure new features align with our customers' needs. We are building strong, collaborative relationships to accelerate both our customer's decarbonization goals.

AI isn't just about smart tech and chatbots; it's about sustainable solutions for our planet's future 🌿 As Aidan O'Sullivan, our CTO and co-founder, said last night, "We're creating a company where the world's best minds feel proud to leverage their skills to make a positive impact on our world." Thanks to Planet A Ventures for an excellent event and to Miriam Partington and Neil D'Souza for such a brilliant panel. 👀 We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer, so if you're motivated to solve interesting and difficult problems to help mitigate our planet's biggest challenge, have a look at our open positions. 👇 https://lnkd.in/dv7f3Rm8

💡AI can help cement plants increase their alternative fuel use as well as enable companies to be more flexible in the types of alternative fuels they use. In the last decade, cement plant operators have faced ever-increasing challenges related to the need to use more alternative fuels. The composition of the alternative fuels affects the production process in different ways, adding complexity to decision-making on plant control parameters. Our AI solution makes the previously unobservable chemical processes in the kiln observable to cement plant operators by learning the relationship between performance and different alternative fuels and displaying critical information on real-time plant conditions in the control room. To learn how we can help you increase your alternative fuel use and help introduce a larger variety of alternative fuels to your production process, contact us 👇🏻 https://hubs.li/Q02CcRcW0 #AI #AIforCement #cement #alternativefuels #industrialdecarbonization
