On Wednesday, I spent the morning at Cadogan Tate Fine Art in London, packing and then loading our boat ‘No Great Shakes’ for shipping across to the US. As ever, the level of detail and support provided from the Cadogan team was exceptional, ‘Everything, handled with care’ is not just a slogan but an ethos they really do abide by. From concept to getting No Great Shakes to this point has taken 6 months of planning and preparation, a lot of hard work and support from the team and our sponsors has taken what was a conversation, and made it a reality! Whilst team members hold down hectic full time jobs, family life, studying, training, renovating and what’s been a pretty terrible winter for anything boat related, we have pulled together and made this happen, something we are really proud of as a team. We were delighted to be the lead partner for the 2024 Talking Galleries New York Symposium. This event brought together the world’s leading collectors, gallerists, and museum directors for a two-day summit on the most pressing issues facing the art world today. In his presentation at the symposium, Chief Growth Officer Vincent Szwajkowski launched our new sustainability platform – People and Planet, Handled with Care. This new three-pronged strategy focuses on our product, process, and community to drive a comprehensive approach to sustainability. From reducing emissions to carbon offset programs to gender pay gap reporting, this launches a multi-year strategy that will lead the industry. Vince also outlined a case study that Cadogan Tate completed with artist Gary Hume to illustrate how we need our clients to partner with us on this journey to drive a more sustainable art logistics industry. Our team works with the world’s top galleries to install the most stunning homes, exhibitions, and fairs – and this year is no exception. We are thrilled to partner with Design Miami for their inaugural fair in Paris, opening today. Taking place at the breathtaking L'hôtel de Maisons, the former home of Karl Lagerfeld, with 27 galleries and 18 Design at Large presentations spread across 11,000 square feet of indoor space and vast outdoor gardens.
