🌞📚 Summer Reads: What's on Our Team's Bookshelves? 📚🌞    At bet365, we believe that continuous learning and personal growth are key to our success. This summer, our team members are diving into a variety of books that inspire, educate, and entertain. Here’s a glimpse into what some of us are reading:    Matthew Heyhoe, Lead Business Systems Analyst Book: Think Again by Adam Grant Why They Chose It: This incredible book made me realise that some 'facts' I held onto were actually opinions I hadn't revisited in years. For instance, 'Manchester United is the biggest team in the world' might have been true a decade ago, but is it still accurate now? Or considering 'I vote for Labour because they care about the less well-off'—do their policies in the upcoming election manifesto reflect this? While your views might not be wrong, this book serves as a reminder to verify them before asserting them as facts. Adam Grant explains these principles through engaging storytelling, and I couldn't put the book down. Helen Sneddon , Senior SACM Engineer Book: Scoundrels by James Peak and Victor Cornwall Why They Chose It: My husband found an advert for these books on the back of a Viz comic! Say what you will, but they are hilariously fantastical and will have you laughing on your sunbed all holiday. The trilogy follows two gentlemen on chaotic adventures, sometimes a bit close to the bone, but if you have a good sense of humor, you will be quoting phrases from these books and laughing to yourself for many years to come. Once you've read one, you have to read them all. Enjoy! Beth Moore, Recruitment Coordinator Book: You Don't Know Me... But a Footballer's Life by Clarke Carlisle Why They Chose It: This book is about coping with change and challenges, and how to build resilience. It's an inspiring read for anyone looking to strengthen their ability to adapt and thrive in the face of adversity. Patrick Donegan, Recruitment Manager Book: Do Hard Things: Why We Get Resilience Wrong and the Surprising Science of Real Toughness by Steve Magness Why They Chose It: I’ve always been fascinated by endurance and the power of the human body and mind to adapt and survive in difficult environments and situations. This book offers deep insights into the science of real toughness and resilience. From thrilling novels to insightful business reads, our team is exploring a wide range of topics. We’re excited to see how these books will spark new ideas and perspectives in our work. What’s on your summer reading list? 🌟 Employee Spotlight: Martina Cachia, CRM Marketing Manager We're excited to introduce our latest Employee Spotlight, featuring one of our dedicated CRM Marketing Managers, whose insights and experiences offer a glimpse into the passion and expertise that drive our success. What brought you to bet365 and what has your journey been like so far? I’ve been in the industry for almost 12 years. I started off with a focus on Affiliate Marketing and Ad Optimisation, working with a handful of Operators as well as Affiliates. After going through two redundancies, my priorities changed and my main goal was job security and finding somewhere I can settle and build a career, I also felt it was time for a change as I had lost my passion for what I was doing previously – and that’s what led me to CRM at bet365. What do you enjoy most about working at bet365? You never know what each new day will bring, there's always something exciting happening, and the unpredictability keeps things fresh and thrilling. Whether it's a new project, an unexpected challenge, or a surprising opportunity, every day offers a chance to experience something unique and invigorating.    How has your role evolved since you started? I started off as a CRM Coordinator 5 years ago when the team consisted of around 10 – 15 people, and I am now CRM Marketing Manager responsible for a team of almost 30.     What is the most challenging part of your role? Finding a balance between overseeing the daily operations of the team, dedicating individual time to each team member, and managing my own projects. This requires constant prioritization and time management to ensure that everything runs smoothly and everyone feels supported, all while pushing my own initiatives forward.    What are some of the challenges and benefits of working and living Gibraltar? I’ve been in Gibraltar for almost 2 years, it’s similar to Malta in some aspects just less busy – I have an 8 minute commute to work now vs the 2hr commute to and from work each day in Malta. I struggle with the quality of food in Gibraltar but then Spain is on our doorstep so I really can’t complain. Overall the move has been life changing and I don’t imagine myself ever going back to Malta.    What advice would you give to new employees or those considering joining our team? Embrace the learning curve and be proactive. Ask questions and seek out resources to understand our processes and culture. Building relationships with your colleagues is key; don't hesitate to reach out and collaborate, as teamwork is at the heart of our success. Stay open to feedback and be adaptable, as this will help you grow and thrive in our dynamic environment. Most importantly, bring your enthusiasm and passion to everything you do – it will make your experience here both rewarding and enjoyable.

Yesterday representatives from our different Graduate programmes attended Staffordshire University for their 25th Anniversary of GradEX. GradEX is a degree showcase where students have the opportunity to present their final year projects to industry professionals, discussing their university work and future aspirations. The event once again featured high-quality work, with many passionate and talented students showcasing their research. A big thank you to our volunteers Phyu Phyu San, James Day, Liam Gilson, Alper Ozan and Robyn Van der laan and of course to the staff and students at Staffordshire University that made the day possible!

What a weekend of darts action from the bet365 US Darts Masters, where the best players in the world faced off against the best of North America, on the iconic Madison Square Garden stage. A record 7,500 fans were in attendance across the three sessions to witness 83 180’s, a 170 checkout, and an unbelievable giant killing as Jeff Smith defeated Michael ‘Bully Boy’ Smith in emphatic style. Thanks to our partners at the Professional Darts Corporation we were able to provide access to players for key US based commercial partners, to give away the ‘Best Seats In The House’ in our Never Ordinary social competition, and transform the theatre at MSG into a sea of green and gold. Congratulations to Rob Cross on his epic bet365 US Darts Masters victory, and to Matt Campbell for securing the North American Darts Championship! #bet365 #USDartsMasters #NYC #USA #MSG #NeverOrdinary #PDC
